I doubt the validity of those Maicon reports, but I'd ask that same question too. It will either be Marcelo or Coentrao.

And we dont need Essien as long as Lass leaves, but if Lass leaves then Essien is welcome. Btw I believe Sahin is better than Alonso just for us, he really shines in big games. He isnt just good he is always brilliant, this guy crushed Bayern Munich. We need someone like him against El Clasicos, whereas Xabi was nothing more than defensive (but he did get 1 REALLY good pass, but Valdes saved the shot )

Lass wants to leave ,he isnt getting much playing time and he probably will leave.Essein is good enough to be in the Startin XI.If Essein Comes and Alonso stays then we would need to bench ozil or sahin or di maria.Alonso is like 30

You guys realize, i hope, that Alonso basically did everything for us in the midfield. When he was out and we had to play any combo of Lass/Khedira/Granero, we plain stunk.

He's the most irreplaceable player on our team right now. If he were to slow down and didn't want to lose playing time in the next few years, he may leave. But to be honest, if he accepted a lesser role after he slows, we would never sell him.

He's just not someone that we should lose. Very unique player.

Essien is nowhere near as good as Alonso. Only reason we would want Essien is because we would lack the midfield defensive presence of Lass, were he to leave. Otherwise, we do not need Essien at all.

No way we bench or let Alonso go. Arguably our best player of the season.

Alonso is very good at defending in his role at Real Madrid. He reads the play very well at midfield and is often the one who cuts opposition runs and ignites the counter attack for us.

Plus, Alonso is a world class deep-lying playmaker. His vision and passes at CDM own those of Essien.

He would probably play on the dm i guess couldn't see him a cm as we have Sahin, granero, Alonso and Khedira fighting for those spots
