Sahin set to leave Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin is set to join a Premier League side on loan, according to reports from Spain.

Sahin, 23, made just two La Liga starts for Real Madrid last season, having joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2011.

The Turkey international recently expressed his willingness to remain at the Bernabeu, but Spanish newspaper AS reported on Friday an exit has been agreed.

AS claims a season-long loan agreement with an English side has been struck, with Arsenal and Tottenham - as part of a deal for Luka Modric - have been mooted as possible destinations.

Marca, meanwhile, takes the stance that he is bound for the Gunners, after he was left out of Real's squad for their friendly against Benfica.

Neither North London club have commented on the rumours, with clarity over Sahin's destination expected in the next 48 hours, although Jose Mourinho signalled that he expects the player to move.

"I want to be honest and Sahin is living in this grey zone because the market is open,'' the Portuguese said. "If the possibility arises for him to go to another place it would be better for him to leave and to be able to have more minutes on the pitch.''

Sure doesn't look like it!

Thing is Sahin pretty much plays Alonso's role and he'd be on the bench again this season. As soon as Alonso's benched/sold/etc Sahin can take his spot imo. I'd give Sahin Alonso's spot now, but yeh...

Injured players can't play once they recover mid season

this one is totally mous f*ck up, completely on him if this bites us on the ass which it likely will.

i dont see how this could possibly be repaired, even if it is just a loan.

Hope we get him. A good buddy of mine is a RM fan and he laughed in my face when I told him to give us Sahin so he stops rotting over there.

He's had many opportunities to laugh in my face last season and took full advantage, while I didn't have too many.

Well I was the only one who suggested Sahin going on loan.
