Re: Can Juve crack CL Semi's?
I could as well say Vidal got a lucky shot off and Quag got his goal from a highly unlikely defensive error against the run of play. At the end of the day the ball ended up in the back of the net twice for both teams. Get off your high horsejuventus101 wrote:I see no reason why we can't at least get to the semis. The only teams that are better than us are Madrid, Barca, and Bayern, and its arguable. In a knockout tie I can't see us losing to any of them to be honest, what scares me is if we get to the final its a one-off match. I wouldn't argue if someone from those 3 said they'd beat us I'm a knockout tie, I just can't see it happenning unless our form drops. I mean, we just tied the world champions Chelsea in London, with an exhausted Pirlo, against a much stronger Chelsea than last season. Not to mention they were winning from a lucky deflection and a one in a million goal, and that we were clearly the better team, we just couldn't finish our chances (as usual).

Do you realise who you're talking too here.
Abandon thread before he concludes Juve and Bayern are the two best teams in the world , using a series of < and > symbols to prove his case.

Re: Can Juve crack CL Semi's?
I wasn't taking anything away from Chelsea. The 2nd goal was amazing. But they were very lucky with the first goal, as Buffon clearly had it if it hadn't been deflected. Juves goals were actually class. A couple of touches and a nice 20 yard rip, and beating the offside trap for a simple yet nice goal. Nothing lucky or one in a million about that.
And please don't insult me. Plus, since when do I use symbols like that? Maybe once in every hundred or so posts? Good analysis (sarcasm)...

Beating the Chelsea team that got beaten 3-0 by Atletico Madrid automatically makes you a force in the CL?
Juve have no CL experience, they don't have WC strikers, or even above average ones, are reliant on one player that was lucky not to get injured last season (given his injury record), and haven't faced any other great teams in their own league. Juve fans would do best to reassess their expectations.
Juve have been in the CL finals 7 times, same as Barcelona. Only Madrid, Milan and Bayern have been in the CL finals more than Juve.

Yes and how many of their current squad participated in those finals? History doesn't mean you have CL experience on your side...

Buffon was in the final. Lucio and Pirlo (twice) have won the CL.

Re: Can Juve crack CL Semi's?
Pirlo has won the CL twice.
Lucio has won the CL.
Buffon has been to the final.
Conte has won the CL and been runner-up 3 times.
Carrera has won the CL.
Chiellini, Marchisio, and Giovinco were all big players for Juve in 08/09 in the CL.
Vucinic was a big.player in that same year for Roma in the CL.
Bendtner has played some CL games for Arsenal.
Vidal and Barzagli have played some group stage CL games for Leverkusen and Wolfsburg respectively.
Plus they pretty much all have Euro experience now, which is just as much pressure in my opinion, so I think were fine.

Re: Can Juve crack CL Semi's?
When people think that they can't achieve something, they say to you that you can't achieve that as well
It doesn't matter that we didn't "dominate" chelsea like barcelona and bayern... All i know is that we drawed with the champions of europe away, thing that barcelona, bayern, napoli and valencia were not capable of... They are the champions of europe, end of story... What can you want more from a team to be called champions after beating barcelona home, drawing barcelona away in 10 men, and beating bayern on Allianz Arena?
We have the winner mentality since Conte's arrival, we have players who played in Euro Final, after defeating Germany and England, we have all what it takes... We're undefeated champions of ITaly, the country who has victory in it's DNA
I expect Real Madrid to be our rivals this year in UCL.

Well, Bayern hardly could do that as they didn't play them away...tuddor wrote:It doesn't matter that we didn't "dominate" chelsea like barcelona and bayern... All i know is that we drawed with the champions of europe away, thing that barcelona, bayern, napoli and valencia were not capable of...

Re: Can Juve crack CL Semi's?
Shaktar were always going to be a dodgy team, i cringed when I saw them in our group.
If we can beat them twice we will surely qualify top.

Actually Baresi's post was amazing subtle trolling. When I read it I laughed and cried and will now always look back at it with fond memories of a simpler time.
Would plus rep but sadly we've seemed to have abandoned that feature.
