Michu,Ibra and thiago Silva are the top 3 for me.Pretty surprised no one mentioned TS,the guy is carrying a defense full of scrubs and making them the second best defense in Europe statistically

Because of the fact that he cost so much plus he's playing in Ligue 1(5th best league in the world) and especially if you look from the perspective of performance to transfer fee ratio.

Considerable Roma bias aside, Marquinhos has been one of the best youth and defensive finds of the season. How many other 18 year olds have displaced players a decade older than them inside 4 months this season?

Also a shout to Mauro Goicoechea as well for displacing a seasoned keeper like Stekelenburg in his first season proper in Europe.

Offensively maybe as he's been a bit one-dimensional lately and defenders have found him out..But defensively he's been a rock there's no doubt about that.

Malbranque for Lyon should be mentioned too. He's the glue to that midfield. Made a world of difference and it the main reason Lyon is playing so well...
