Why Messi scores for Argentina now?

he scores every game for Argentina now. before he didnt (yeah before he didnt score even in friendlies). People said he needed barcelona team to score. But for me he just needed to play in his original position to score. His performance was same, before he didnt score but he still was best player for team and did most of the things for Argentina. He was voted top-10 player in world cup scoring 0 goal. But today if player doesnt score he is flop. Going by this logic Messi focused on scoring

So what is your opinion?

position was never a problem but it was the co-ordination.
it is no coincidence that since he has been named the captain of Argies he has started performing like captain. Plus having intelligent players like Pipa, Kun and Gago helps. And Di Maria too has raised his game. Messi will always score if he is not forced to go deep in search of ball like he used during the Maradona and Batista eras, when he was almost a CM during that time.

It's pretty obvious why.....

He's playing closer to goal than he was before.

In his first WC he was a kid and hardly used, 2nd World Cup it was a mixture of being unlucky and playing practically next to Mascherano due to Maradona's awful tactics.

Copa America everything went through him and he created a lot but the chances was not taken he wasn't bad in a sense but not a difference maker.

Since Sabella has taken charge he has played something similar to his usual Barca role and played extremely close to Higuain and Aguero and Argentina actually have a midfield trio behind him that works.

He has been fantastic for Argentina in last 2 years with more than half of his goals and assists have come in that time frame.

In fact his steady improvement for Argentina has been very similar to Maradona, who was very poor at a young age and come into his own between the ages of 24-28 like Messi has.
