IMO Carzola, Silva, Iniesta are definite starters for Spain & should be. Then you have Xavi, Biscuits, Alonso, Fabregas, Navas & so on. Its just a ridiculously good side. Probably the most talented Mid-field ever.

But I think Mata can offer width, tricky & pace & in the flanks as well giving a different dimension. Why does Spain have to pick 3 Forwards if they wont play 1??

Or how does freaking Perdro play instead of Mata??

I would play -

Iniesta Fab/ST Siva

Carzola Alonso/Bicuits Xavi

& bring on Mata & Navaz as subs in the flanks maybe in place of Carzola or Xavi.

Fabregas, Cazorla, Silva, Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi (as technically he is taking a midfield spot away) are all better players for Spain. Fab had 3 assists today 2 of which were more impressive then anything Mata did, is he now good again? To forget Fab's exploits for Arsenal and Cazorla's for Villareal, and while playing on the same team with Silva it was VERY VERY obvious who was better.

It's funny how some of you think. Spain does not cave to the Flavor of the month crap like a lot of you do. They have won the last 2 Euro's and the World Cup in a row and Del Bosque knows who is better then who.

The football they play in the EPL is not what is played on the international stage and the skills to excel in the EPL is not what the Spanish National team is looking for in there players.

Del Bosque doesn't think having great first touch and close control not to mention being able to spot through balls and finish when given the chance are supernatural skills they are expected on that Spanish team and all the players even most of the defenders can do it that's why he doesn't switch around his players because someone is having a good month or two.

IT's very obvious who is better then who.

Ugh

Same reaction i had. Mad

Really guys, Spain has a problem of waayyyyy too many playmakers in the side, the last thing they need is another one.

Spain needs even a so so direct player like Navas or Villa/Torres even though they're not at their best level. Its somewhat ridiculous that Fabregas of all players is used as a centre forward.

agree, he has been class, the way he adjusted last season was great. Although the over usage did costed him form during the later stages of last season, same happwned with D. Silva, and deserves a chance, although the thing is, there are players who who are as good as him or better. Xavi-Iniesta-Busi-Alonso, maybe you can drop Busi or Alonso, are irreplacable, if you drop the double pivot, but that would be risky for DB as it was one of the major reason why Spain under DB has been so unbeatable. Than we
have Silva, Cazorla, Fabregas, Martinez who all are good in their roles which Mata has to compete. He does deserve a chance with NT, but other players fit like hand in gloves.

it is not a problem but a boon for the tactical football that DB employs. DB likes to suck up opponent of ideas, stamina and patient with constant possession play atleast for the first hour. Tha he brings direct players to exploit the already tired opponents.

Fabregas provides a different option which Torres, Navas dont provide, that is being comfortable at possession, and it is not like he performed bad at Euros. As for Villa, his absence was one of the major reasons why Fabregas played that role at Euro.

Mata > Hazard.

I said all along that Mata is a good player and Hazard ceiling is around Mata's ability with somewhat more speed.
