U21s playing right now. Interestingly McLaughlin up on the wing right now instead of fullback. Pretty nothing game so far...not much to speak of. Rossiter's read of the game is real nice so far though and maybe should have even had a penalty.

Wilson coming on I think.

Starting: Ward, Randall, Stewart, Jones, Williams, Rossiter, McLaughlin, Lussey, Peterson, Brannagan, Ojo
Bench: Maguire, Vigouroux, Wilson, Trickett Smith, Yesil

Deserved 1 - 0 win. The second half it seemed like it was all Liverpool...McLaughlin was absolutely fantastic and scored the deserved winner after a marauding run on the left, then across and bounced it off Yesil back to himself.

Rossiter, Stewart, Ojo, Peterson, Wilson and McLaughlin the standouts IMO.

Lol kind of. He was more lucky than anything since he really couldn't handle the pass and it fortunately bounced right back to McLaughlin. That said he looked ok for a guy out for so long. Made a really nice run at one point that Ojo (or maybe it was Peterson) didn't see and he would have been on goal alone. Rossiter made a couple really nice runs from the midfield like that, too.

All in all a decent game. Lots of build up without much finish though.

I am very confident that Rossiter and Wilson will be starting XI quality for Liverpool at some point. They are fantastic...especially for their age.

Yeah I have very high hopes for Wilson and Rossiter. Those 2 and Yan Dhanda are probably the best youth in the academy talent wise.

Last season I was excited when we got Chirivella and Canos but having watched them with the U18 and reserves I think they're a talent level below Wilson/Rossiter/Dhanda.

I like Ryan Kent a lot too.

Yep, Kent is nice.

Have to say the final is 1-1 but Liverpool were the better side by a pretty wide margin in the second half and really deserved better. United were fouling a lot and really could have seen red.

Wilson was fantastic before being replaced by Canos. Ojo was absolutely electric with the ball but lacked final product. Rossiter was unbelievable in defence and orchestrating the midfield. Lussey's goal was a great free kick, but other than that he was pretty meh.

I keep coming away impressed with McLaughlin of late. He really makes some nice runs with the ball for a fullback.
