The best Quagliarella ever?
Juventus’ Fabio Quagliarella believes that he is in the form of his life following a glittering start to the 2012-13 campaign.
Despite not being guaranteed a starting shirt, the forward has scored six goals in just five Serie A starts this season.
And after his hat-trick in the 6-1 win at Pescara on Saturday, he’s averaging a League goal every 65 minutes so far this term.
“I am not surprised to be scoring so much,” he told Tuttosport. “I have realised that I’m calmer and cooler in front of goal now.
“A few years ago I was frantic in search of goals, but I’ve matured more. Perhaps this is the best moment of my career.
“I feel stronger than I did before the injury. It will be coming up to two years in January and I’ve really grown since then.”
Quagliarella ruptured knee ligaments at the start of 2010 and he’s been slowly re-introduced back to action by boss Antonio Conte.
“Conte has always said that us five strikers are first team players, but it is obviously up to him to make the decisions,” the forward added.
“We all know that if we play like he tells us to then it will be difficult for the opposition. I hope to continue scoring, but what matters is that the team wins.”
