Chelsea linked with January bargain basement Italian swoop for around £6m
Chelsea aren't usually associated with cheap moves in the transfer market but rumours are growing in Italy that they are trailing Juventus striker Alessandro Matri ahead of a January move. The forward has only started two league games so far this season for Juventus and is less in favour than he had been previously. The Turin club are looking for a striker who can routinely put chances away and they don't seem to think Matri is that man for them anymore, so he's being edged out.
Calciomercato.it reckon that rather than the €15m Juventus would hope to get for the forward, they'd be more likely to receive somewhere in the region of just €7m-€8m which is around £6m, not usually a price tag Chelsea would be chasing. He has a contract for the next four and a half years so it's not a case of the club looking to recoup what they can in January rather than let him leave for free.
The problem for Juventus is that the striker is unhappy with his new support role, coming off the bench and featuring in less matches. He's 28 and expected to build on a successful season last time around but has found himself outside of the first choice crop of players.
The Chelsea link is being reported by Calciomercato, Tuttomercato, Libero.it and others in Italy, it appears to be gathering steam. Roberto Di Matteo is named as a fan of the player and that could be the only explanation for a move which at the outset would appear to be quite odd, a decent player but not up to the levels of strikers Chelsea are usually linked with.
The Stamford Bridge side have been linked with moves for Falcao, Huntelaar, Higuain and others, all due respect to Matri but he's not quite in that bracket.

Simply Matri isn't suited for this tactics. in 4-4-2 he is beast with 1 creative SS with him in 3-5--2 where running is required and covering plus creating for himself ...
but for 6 mil hell no he is worth 10
