Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
Barca fans are trying to make themselves feel good. This has uncle Flo written all over it. There's no way in hell Perez is letting such a marketable player through his grasp to Barca.

Sounds like you're trying to make yourself feel good. Every bookie in Spain and/or Brazil give Barça more chance to sign Neymar.

Perez has already pissed off both Neymar and his father, I doubt you'll be seeing him at the Real any time soon

He is not going to Madrid Flo has really pissed off his family. Messi has already been asked how he feels about Neymar coming to Barcelona, Neymar openly saying Messi is the best and is better than ROnaldo, ALves is one of Neymars closest friends, Barcelona have already paid the 10 million.
Neymar doesn't want to fgo to Madrid. Santos do not even need to sell him. UIn this case Money means very little brah. Pls stay safe.

Neymar's father:
"He wants to play in Europe," said Neymar's father, quoted in Lancenet as telling Sport.
"We reduced his contract from 2015 to 2014 so that he can play there.
"But he is staying until the World Cup to allow Brazilian football to grow again."
He added: "I believe Barcelona is the best path. Barcelona's football is like that of Neymar. They score from inside the penalty area like Neymar.
"We have to wait. Maybe Barcelona won't want Neymar in 2014.
"How can I say now that Neymar wants to go to Barcelona? The club can't say anything either. It's better that everyone stays quiet for now."

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
I think Santos agreed to the dumbest contract in the world buy reducing the length of Neymar's contract, he can leave Santos in a little over a year for free.
They'll only get pittance for development fees from any club that acquires him in the summer of 2014. Unless they have an agreement with Barcelona and Neymar has already signed a precontract, whoever agreed to the contract should fired.

That sounds a lot smarter, I'm just curious as to why they're so quite over the deal, do they want to avoid offending the fans of Santos, or they want to avoid Neymar being unnecessarily pressured?

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
I think Neymar would be a good fit at Barcelona, he prefers playing left wing, and the competition he has there would be Villa, who'd probably be long gone before Neymar gets there. Messi would probably be declining and Neymar would do to Messi what Messi did to Ronaldinho.

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
Fans in general get very mad when players get sold over here,Santos fans would go mad to know that Neymar is sold. The relationship between the fans and Santos's management is bad enough with no one leaving .buddytaller wrote:Ganso wrote: of course he has a pre contract, barca already payed 10M for him.the santos contract ends in 2014 and he would be leaving for free otherwise

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
if he has a pre-contract with barca why would he reduce his santos contract to 2014, doesnt really make sense to me. did he have to take a pay cut in order to reduce the years on his contract?
ive never heard of that happening tbh.

I think the translation is kind of meh.The contract wasnt reduced,Santos offered a contract until 2015 but he wanted a contract that lasted until 2014 so he could leave after the WC and thats what he gotvanDEEZ wrote:if he has a pre-contract with barca why would he reduce his santos contract to 2014, doesnt really make sense to me. did he have to take a pay cut in order to reduce the years on his contract?

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
Why is Neymar going to Barcelona a bad thing? Seriously?
It will be the quintessential club in which he can continue his rapid development, be around champions, and most importantly keep his head down, keep humble and keep working. That is after all what is taught within the foundation which is why the players are humble and like "schoolboys"
Messi will inevitably improve his development as there is a lot he can learn from him along with it having him motivated to keep up on his level. Neymar is far too young to have a side built around him and plying his trade in minor switches in position will only augment his development.
Perfect club for him.

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
He'd make an awful mistake joining Barcelona. Neymar is a player whom, like Messi, should have a less rigid role in the team because he flourishes when he is given freedom to stroll. Barcelona, already having Messi with that role, can't afford another free player on the same pitch. Ever wondered why Ibrahimović didn't succeed at Barça?
Fantasy football rarely works. It gets fans excited, but it will leave them gutted in the end. I personally can't see Neymar a team player, tracking back like Pedro or Alexis, or even if he did, that's like the old saying of having a Ferrari and driving it like a Mazda.

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
Can't agree with you DJ.
Lets look at the Ibra case. Zlatan needed to be played centrally and with the team built around him for tactical reasons and for Messi's development as a player. We also have to add to the Ibra-Pep conflict which essentially broke the possibility of Ibra adapting to a varied position if not retaining the same one. Neymar on the other hand doesn't have Ibra's ego and doesn't need a team built around him. Yes he does need a certain degree of freedom afforded to him in Brasil yet given how Barcelona is skilled in moulding players into what they need I'm sure he'll adapt.
Yes I share your concerns that Neymar will get nowhere near as much freedom as he wants/needs but he does have many of the characteristics that is needed for the 'Guardiolan' attacker up front and with his age he certainly can be moulded.

Re: Where should/will Neymar go?
I think Guardiola-Zlatan problems started as a result of those 'freedom' issues, too. Ibrahimović did want to play central, which clashed with Messi so yes, there's one fewer reason Barcelona need to worry because Neymar's natural position is on the sides/wings as he does currently with Santos. But the freedom issue remains and can be problematic, once Neymar feels he can help the team in other ways but has to stick to a rigid tactical approach which is not in his nature. It will be a waste of talent in my opinion. He can do so much more in a team without that type of player, such as Milan or Juventus.
I don't want Neymar to go to Barcelona, even though I think he will. But I'm so certain people will eat their words about his success at Barça after a season or two.
I've just seen it too many times. There may be an exception, but it is much more likely there won't be.
