Oh and I don't buy the "Bayern didn't try cuz they had a 2 goal advantage" crap; not after the scoreline last night playing away with a 4 goal advantage.

Barca didn't try because they had a 4 goal disadvantage.

Fa Cup Exit: Blackburn Rovers --- B
Carling Cup Exit: Bradford----------B
UCL exit: Bayern Munich------------B
All clubs which knocked arsenal out have names starting from B. Is it co-incidence? V Happy no club starting with B in premier league..

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Doubt we'll get such a favorable draw in the cups for a while.
Bradford then Villa then Swansea and we'd have ended the drought.
Blackburn then Milwall then Wigan and we'd be in the FA Cup final vs City.

Curious, which trophies have you guys seen us win?
I'm relatively young, so I've only been supporting since the 09-10 season, and all I've seen is perpetual choking .

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Its funny I used to be a Juve fan, when Henry left for Arsenal I started to watch Arsenal and because I was a big France NT team fan.
I started to become a fan around 2000/2001, watched us win many trophies.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
That could well be the case for a club with MASSSIVE commercial funding. Last I checked, we do not have business powerhouses based in and around London backing us, as is the case in Bavaria.
Just to put that statement into perspective.

I did not know that but still there is no excuse for the ticket prices at Arsenal.srigooner wrote:That could well be the case for a club with MASSSIVE commercial funding. Last I checked, we do not have business powerhouses based in and around London backing us, as is the case in Bavaria.

Oh come on. We are millenia behind the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern München and Manchester United in terms of commercial muscle. Those are precisely the aspects your "donkey face" has been roped in to help with. I thought this was common knowledge.
The ticket prices are a major chunk of our revenue. While it does make the fans feel the pinch, you can't compare the operating costs in Munich and London, just as you can't compare the revenue streams.
Some day, we will hopefully match the revenue streams these clubs currently have. But, for that, we need to grab some silverware to propel our popularity globally as a brand. When the brand has value, you can capitalize on the revenue which can piggybank on that value. There is no better marketing than winning credible silverware. (Not Mickey Mouse cups, though we are desperate enough to clutch at those straws right now).

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Van Persie still thinks he is the Arsenal captain!
The Daily Star reports;
After the Arsenal vs Manchester United game last Sunday an Arsenal source said: “Robin said how well we played, especially in the first half, and that it was the toughest game United had had for a while. He reckoned it was the best he had seen us play and that we would qualify for the Champions League for sure.”
“Despite the criticism from the fans, Robin’s well-liked at the club. There’s a lot he could have said about why he moved to United, but he kept quiet before and after the game and was also very respectful when he scored the goal, not celebrating. But he’s happy now after finally winning something and he had a big smile on his face.”

Wenger "Robin is in our dressing room at the moment. Because our food is better in our dressing room than in their dressing room! People who play together for five, six years [get on with each other]. …… Look, at the end of the day we decided to sell him. We are rivals. You want us to make a guard of honour and to respect the champions, then you have to accept as well that respect exists after the game. You want to give absolutely everything during the 90 minutes and after the game you can still talk to each other.

I'm the same as RG. I was a bit too young to remember the 98 season in much detail, but there are lots of happy memories from then on.
The joy of seeing us win the Premier League is nothing compared to the joy of seeing us lift the Emirates Cup, though.

Arsène Wenger has admitted there is a "good chance" that Lukas Podolski will continue up front at QPR - http://bit.ly/ZBGfzH

The Frenchman has seen his squad finish the campaign well with six wins and two draws from their last eight games. A place in the Champions League is within reach if the Gunners continue their fine form against Queens Park Rangers, Wigan and Newcastle.
Few were backing Arsenal for a top-four spot at the turn of the year and Wenger admits that his new-look team needed time to gel. The manager has had to absorb the loss of key players for the past two summers but believes the Club is now well-positioned on and off the pitch.
"I believe that this club is today in a very, very strong position and has gone through a very sensitive period in a very intelligent way," said Wenger.
"After that, everything is here to have a great future. We have a good fanbase, we have now a strong financial situation, we have good young players and a squad with a bright future with the quality of the young players we have. It is just [important] to manage it well now."
Wenger's own role in Arsenal's future was in the headlines this week and his position remains unchanged on that.
"The only thing I can say is that I do my job with a lot of commitment and a lot of loyalty," he said. "I try to do as well as I can for this club. I believe a big club should be run where everybody does his job and I try to do my job.
"The club is in a very strong position for the future. For the rest, my own person is less important, what is important is the future of the club.
"I respect my contracts," added Wenger. "Every football game excites me and football in general still excites me. My love for this club as well. I want to stay if I do well and if I consider or the Club considers that I do well, that is all."

The fact that he's saying we've gone through a sensitive period implies it's over and the fact that he said we are now in a strong financial position gets me really excited.

My children will hear of the legendary day... May 14th 2012...
Something was going on with the Manchester clubs but I can't quite remember what it was because on that day, Arsenal shocked the world and finished 3rd.
