This is what you get when a non-football fan thinks he's had a great idea about a football commercial. Shocking stuff.

I guess that GM doesn't know that Manchester United is way down on the list of greatest clubs. From what I've been able to research, this is the current status:

1) AC Milan (Italy): 18 (European Cup 7, Cup Winners' Cup 2, Super Cup 5, Intercontinental Cup 3 and 1 Club World Cup).

2) Boca Juniors (Argentina): 18 (Copa Libertadores 6, Intercontinental Cup 3, Super Cup 4, Copa Sudamericana 2, 1 Continental Super Cup, 1 Masters Cup and 1 Gold Cup).

3) Real Madrid (Spain): 15 (European Cup 9, UEFA Cup 2, Super Cup 1, Intercontinental Cup 3)

4) Independiente (Argentina): 15 (Copa Libertadores 7, Intercontinental Cup 2, Super Cup 2, Interamericana Cup 3 and 1 Super Cup.

That has to be the worst commercial ive ever seen. Cringe.

I feel embarrassed having my club associated with this travesty.

Bit of an overreaction here, gents...I didn't really cringe at this...

It's not bad...but didn't really impress me either...it's just "meh"..

I do not see it so bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Putting the two biggest rivals in english football together. Yeah that will endear them to both sets of fans. The video and the concept is so out of touch. Thats the main issue.

It's not as though the two sets of players were actually hanging out together in the studio or standing next to each other as the filmed though. In all likelihood they were filmed on completely different days.

It's a lazy, uninspired, boring video that lacks just about all of the main components of an effective commercial but so do most on the air today. It's not really that terrible in when juxtaposed with its competing commercials. While I can understand why some fans find it a bit annoying I think a lot of the reaction is over the top and exaggerated for effect.

One other thing I don't understand is, from United they used their super stars like Giggs, Scholes, RVP and Ferdinand, whereas for Liverpool, they mainly picked young players less than 21 years of old.
