Harry Kewell vs Ozil

On one hand,we have Harry Kewell.A guy who was believed to be highly inconsistent,much like Ozil.A guy who is not really liked by Liverpool fans for not living up to their expectations after his terrific performances with Leeds with his Mind-boggling performance against Arsenal back in 03 which is believed to be his best ever performance. On the other hand,you have Ozil.He's left footed like Kewell and is really inconsistent as well.His rise to the top came back in 2010 after some very good performances for Germany.On his best he is one hell of a player. So who do you think is better?

Real plays Oezil in optimizing to all his strengths as tactically there is little fault in how he is placed into his role. Its not Mourinho's fault that he is under performing in key basic areas to which he has been allowed countless chances for.

His skill is undoubted, yet the premise of him being inconsistent is not far off at all.

Ozil has been great for us though. Admittedly not exactly looks as great as the way he's performing with Germany where the play is pretty much revolved around him and he always gets the touches and return pass he needs to make the game he likes. But he's still effective either way & had a successful first two seasons with us nonetheless, and currently doing very good, our more consistent attacker actually. Of course for various factors he had games where he's less effective, every player had. But the proportion of this is really not significant in comparison to his overall contribution to warrant him an inconsistent label. Especially since he's still very accommodative to other players when he's less effective on his own.

To me consistency is such a relative concept. I find too many players too easily being labeled as inconsistent, especially attacking players. Maybe it's because they do risky stuff and hence people see massive difference of performance when their effort works (hence they're brilliant) and when it doesn't (hence they're useless, disappear, etc). Even more so for player who's at the very best can produce some magical stuff and hence when this doesn't happen week in week out, they're called inconsistent despite still put a rather solid performance for almost every game and especially when they're playing for club like Real Madrid and pretty much under the microscope every time.

Özil is inconsistent as f*ck and I'm a Madrid fan so I can't even be biased.

Still manages to perform when it matters though... And I feel like he is very meh vs. PTB teams imo. Those two are his biggest flaws.

Injuries killed Kewell's career with us. He had a great debut season for us. Was so essential in us getting 4th that season.

Obviously Ozil way better...but Kewell was good at his peak, memorable was him dominating Man U in a game, forgot if it was with Leeds or Liverpool... and one of the best Aussie players in the modern times...
