Knowing Song, that's probably true. Back home we were all laughing when we saw him going to barca. Song is such a pretentious prick, i am not sorry for him, idiotic decision through and through, he had something going with Arsenal, at least he was playing everyweek, and he messed it all up. Now pure bench player, i bet he watches his hollywood passes to RVP on VHS before going to bed.

I think Cesc always gets unfair critism... hes done very well in earlier season and been key in many games. I agree sometimes depending on opponent hes not the best option and slows things down, but he brings a lot to the team in the right games. His backheel setup Sanchez's run for the penalty dont forget.... hes just not Messi or Iniesta or Xavi....but hes a top player, just not consistently effective as we would like I guess...

He wont go Back to Arsenal, but its somewhat of a terrible shame going from a club where you were the 'star' player, to another club just playing a bit-part role.

Song didn't even want to leave.. He loves Arsenal and he wanted a new five year contract, but our board didn't even offer him one. Barca made a good offer and we took it.

Song is not a 'pretentious prick' by any stretch. Arsenal board screwed him over big time, and it was a huge mistake. Neither Song nor Arsenal were winners in this case.

As for Cesc, I would like to see him back at the Emirates, but it's not going to happen.

if you gave cesf a chance and gave him some time he could play in the xavi role, he wouldnt be as good as xavi but he would still be very good . you will not convince me that with a player of cescs quality in midfield, and messi up front, barca wouldnt still continue to win major trophies . there were doubts before deco came to barca about how he would cope in cm and we all know how that worked out

This aint 2005, Cesc cant play the "Xavi role". He cant even play with Xavi where he doesnt even need the same amount of discipline.

Second, do you think we got time to wait for him to not suck for 2 months starting in place of Xavi where in the end, he wont get it anyway?

i dont think you require a terrible amount of discipline when all your doing is pressing the ball when you dont have it, surely barca wouldnt spend over 30 million euros on a midfielder who they didnt think they could instill a sense of discipline in.

and barca are so superior to most teams in europe that an adjustement period of even 6 months wouldnt hinder their cup ambitions too much, those things would take time

Only if pressing was the most important thing Xavi does, he would stand half a chance. As it stands, what Xavi does is far more difficult and complicated....Cesc just isnt that kind of player anymore, here in 2013.

Nothing wrong with that, he is what he is.

And Barca have spent far more on players who lack something as crucial as Cesc lacks for our midfield.

fair enough, i think any player bar maybe the pirlo of 4 years ago would struggle to replace xavi . those suggestin people like thiago could replace him are misguided in my opinion . we will see i suppose .

Well noone can replace Xavi, I mean..how do you replace the best...you simply dont.

But what people want at least is someone with a similar idea and does many of the same things..noone better than Thiago at that.
