Newcastle down 1-0 yet playing well and creating chances that unfortunately have been victim of some dire finishing. Half starts now. Discuss! (No chat for this?)

Tiote continues in attempts to replicate THAT goal v the Arsenal 4-4 comeback. Cabaye should whisper in his ear: "If you have the technique of Clattermole, no point in replicating once in a lifetime goal"

Prince of Newcastle, who has been excellent in saving some chances from Sunderland, comes off for Rob Elliot who confidently catches a corner right away. Massive loss for NUFC.

Congratulations to Sunderland they deserved every bit of that 3-0 win.

On the other hand apart from maybe Marveaux, Cisse and Debuchy the players were a f*cking disgrace and need a long hard look at themselves.

Oh and Pardew has to go.... picks an athletic, fast and technical midfield which can create and score and he has the team sitting deep at home hoofing against a team who has won 1 in like 19 games.

I would go into more detail why he's a useless piece of shit but its really a waste of time and energy.

Good result and day out.

Slightly spoilt by the jawdee savages reinacting the arab spring.

Was going to spend rest of day having a few more beers but got seperated from m8s and they are stuck behind enemy lines after police had to close train station Sad

It was a fairly entertaining game, stopped watching a little before Vaughan's goal. The scoreline doesn't reflect the balance of play, but no doubt Sunderland deserved to win, they came up with the moments of quality in attack + Mignolet with a few good saves.

The relegation battle is looking so tense, Villa, Sunderland and Stoke on 34 points and Norwich are only one point better off, they must be a bit nervous...

Sunderland getting Di Canio at this stage of the season is looking like a masterstroke. They look reinvigorated and miles better than previously under O'Neil.

Those 3 goals were all fantastic. Even Johnson scored Shocked You know things are looking better when he performs and scores a cracking goal.

I have no idea why the Newcastle defence backed off and gave him plenty of space to shoot, but it was well-taken goal nevertheless.

Aye Johnson did well for a MOTD player.

We are playing so much better under DiCanio, If that was under MoN we would have tried to sit back and hold onto the 0-1.

Vaughans goal was a belter. In fact all 3 goals were well taken. Sess can be frustrating holding onto the ball too long and loosing it but glad he did them.

Things are looking allot more promising for the relegation battle but I wont count my chickens just yet.

Honorable mention to Gardner who turned up at a pub this morn and traveled to the match with our fans sitting in the away end with them.

Pretty ridiculous for fans to riot like that. Between this and Millwall yesterday England seems to be having a hooligan renaissance.

It was hardly a riot.... media blowing it way out proportion.

A bunch of charver c***s embarrassing themselves and the club and damaging their own city for an hour or two. Shameful stuff, but not even close to rioting.

Of course this is based on what I've seen only. Media could be blowing it out of proportion.

More depends on Stoke showing the world how shit they are tbh.

The only reason i'm not a bag of nerves is because of Stoke's horrendous form Laughing

Three officers were injured, one of whom was taken to hospital, and 27 people were arrested.

Even before the game began Newcastle fans were needling Sunderland as they Nazi saluted the team bus on its arrival at the ground with manager Di Canio on board.

As police escorted Sunderland fans to the train station once the match had finished chaos ensued as defeated Newcastle fans began to attack their rivals.

Police and Sunderland fans desperately tried to shield themselves from the missiles which were being thrown from all directions.

Terrified workers at Newcastle train station locked the doors to keep out the rioters and protect the people inside.

:brickwall: Webb dropped from prem league games next week for poor performance.

MOTD didn't talk about a MOTM or player performances. Instead Lawro went on for 10 minutes about how amazing Webb was.

Really? I watched for 80 minutes and thought he was fine. Chris Foy should be dropped for next season based on this criteria.
