He can be a good striker but he needs to work on his balance cause everytime he gets the ball it seems like he is about to go down.

Sanogo needs to work on a lot of things, and I can't help but feel he should be doing that away from Arsenal at the moment. We're a team trying to challenge for the title but have this incredibly unreliable second choice striker; that's a bit counter-productive.

Also, I don't see how this guy can get chances in the first team and Chuba Akpom can't. Akpom looks much the better player and he's three years younger.

I want all Arsenal players to improve and do well, but it just seems strange to me how Wenger puts so much faith in Sanogo.

I agree with Jay.

If we depend on Sanogo and Giroud we will stay at 4th if we lucky. Game after game shows just how much we lack a striker. Giroud is ok but we really need to have better back up.

Arsenal fans do this with every young prospect, when the team is no performing well. They think the young prospect on the bench is better than what is on the pitch, the likes of OX and Chez all went through that phase. Sanogo still has the potential to develop into a decent striker but he is not ready for first team football at the moment. He needs to go on loan and improve certain aspect of his game without expectation that comes at a club like ours, he is way too raw at the moment even Campbell is ahead of him in terms development.

Well he's raw at everything... Wenger should never have brought him at this stage of evolution and Sanogo should have never signed.

The issue with Sanogo is that he can't finish and he's uncoordinated as soon as he gets into the final 1/3. Looks pretty good when he has space closer to the midfield... but a disaster in tight spaces. I really don't know how to fix this. But then again, i felt the same way about Adebayor when he first came. That was a miracle transformation... need another miracle here.

His 'footballing age' is barely 19, just the way Rosicky claims to be around 30 in terms of 'footballing age', due to long spells out. The same logic dictates that Ramsey is about 22, Jack 21, Theo and Diaby 23.

Logically, it makes sense to me on two levels. Firstly, you are not gaining any experience when you are in rehab - no training, no games, no experience. Secondly, your body is not undergoing the exhaustion-recovery cycle on a (bi)weekly basis - which means that your body is accumulating lesser fatigue.

This is why Rosicky can still play with that drive and energy when he is 33 (ofcourse, without even counting his attitude or work ethic, which are also key contributing factors imho).

I don't know, I still see potential in the guy although I don't dispute the fact that he has a ton of raw patches and that his career might have peaked in the spring of 2014. We'll see.

If Giroud hadn't gotten injured, a season on loan with lots of playing time would have been the best thing for both him and Arsenal.

Official arsenal.com poll...

When Arsenal's strikers are all fit, who should start as centre forward?

Danny Welbeck
41%
Olivier Giroud
32%
Theo Walcott
13%
Alexis Sanchez
12%

He is not even included as an option in arsenal.com official poll.. Laughing yet Wenger sees him as our main and only striker for the season.. :fishing:

Wenger said: "Hull is one of the opportunities (for Sanogo), they have not positioned at the moment with us. I spoke with Steve (Bruce) last week, he is interested but he has not come back to me about Yaya."

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-line-up-arsenals-yaya-4950984

“It’s been made clear that Sanogo might be available on loan and it’s something we’ll have a look at,” Bruce said.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce said he would be interested in bring Jermain Defoe to the club in this window
“I don’t think I’m alone in being interested in Jermain Defoe either, who seems to be available, but the figures and the finances might just be beyond us."

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11670/9638032/hull-discussing-possible-signings-of-yaya-sanogo-and-jermain-defoe-admits-steve-bruce

“I don’t know how many starts he’s had,” he said, “but he played against us in the cup final and I was very impressed with him. I saw him play for Arsenal against Dortmund in the Champions League as well.

“For the French under-21s he’s been nothing short of fantastic. I saw a game when they beat England and I thought he was terrific.

“When you take a young boy, especially a striker, it’s a question of whether they can come and do it. I took Nicklas Bendtner when he was 18 and he won me the Championship.

Bruce was backed by hefty midfielder Tom Huddlestone who said, “I was speaking to a couple of the lads yesterday when we heard the rumour and they were saying he’s a handful.

“He’s an intelligent footballer for one so young. The times I’ve seen him at Arsenal, I think he’s done very well.

“He’s been a bit unlucky at Arsenal in front of goal and at the highest level, which Arsenal is, you probably need to be a bit more clinical but football-wise he’s done well. He’s impressed me.”

Won't count our chickens till they hatch, but Yaya and Palace seems like a match-made in heaven. Add Pardiola's hoof overload, Chamack's brilliance and Zaha's rebirth and you've got quite a formidable team.

Seems like playing with someone uptop has helped him a lot. I'm expecting a lot from you Big Sano, don't disappoint me Proud
