Be disappointed if we start the backroom staff. That tea lady will be slower than Shola.

She can offer Walcott some sandwiches as a distraction

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Its common practice for him tbh, tends to give incentive to his workers and gives massive bonuses its something he has always done in his retail business.
But i don't understand why it would motivate the players, unless it made them want to do something for the backroom staff which do so much for them.
At the end of the day though if we were to win 1m would be f*ck all as the difference between 13th and a possible 10th place is over 2m.

False rumours abound about that.
Should be interesting/terrifying today (it's morning here already.)
I'm not as nervous as I was for the Wigan game for some reason. I should be. Maybe it will hit me later on.
Gareth Bale FC...sorry..Spurs will win today in my opinion. Sunderland will give it all, but you'll be too strong for them. I think Spurs will win 3-1.
A nice fact for gooners though. Everton have conceded just one goal in their last six league games. It won't be easy for Chelsea. I'm going for a 0-0 in that one.
Arsenal? Our form is excellent, although we tend to take our foot off the gas at times when 1-0 up.
As long as we go for it and we play as we have been, I think we should just about do it.
A bit tighter than expected for some (despite Newcastle's home form...remember this is the last game and the fans will demand a good send off), but Arsenal never make things easy in these situations.
2-1 and a late goal by Theo. It may do my heart no good, but I'll take that.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Our home form was only horrid without Coloccini tbh 7 of our 9 away defeats have been without him.
Compared to 9 wins 1 draw and 2 defeats with him at home.
He's back now so i suspect us to make it a much more competitive game but for you still to win.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
On the 1m Mike Ashley offer...
...the only reason I feel a bit iffy on this is that it is well known that he is a Spurs fan.
Why announce this on the eve of the game? A bit desperate. But he is a Spurs fan, so that explains it.
Wonder how the Geordies feel about this? Him offering 1m to help Spurs get in the CL, rather than put it in the kitty for signings next season?
Still, I think his money may be safe.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Wenger emphasised the importance of finishing well before delving into any transfer activity, while he also criticised the transfer debacles surrounding Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas in the previous summers.
"Let's finish well and then we'll give ourselves a good potential chance to win the championship next season by doing well in the transfer market," the Arsenal boss told reporters.
"Last summer and the year before were very difficult; last year we had the Robin van Persie case and before that it was Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. We started pre-season, on camps, with every time a player being half-in or half-out and that is not the best way mentally to prepare."
Wenger also spoke of the managerial switches between other Premier League clubs, suggesting that the arrival of new bosses could provide Gunners with the impetus to launch a challenge.
"You can have a little advantage on some teams. If [Jose] Mourinho comes back it will not be a totally new experience but, yes, if [Manuel] Pellegrini comes it can be difficult in a new country," he continued. "It's very difficult to predict how it will work."

Nah he's a Chelsea fan and absolutely hates Spurs and quite frankly there is too much being made of this.
He always offers big bonuses to the cleaners, tea ladies, stewards etc etc on final day.... Its not a new thing.
My only question is how does offering bonuses to non-football staff motivate the players at all.... But thing is i don't think its anything to do with the players.
Its just something he does for his workers and does so jn his retail companies too.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
I would like the same team to start as in the preview. Won't mind if Wenger sticks with the same team though, bar Arteta if he's not fit enough to start.
I have this feeling that for some crazy reason Newcastle will, out of the blue, play BRILLIANTY today. It's going to be so nervy. Even more so if we don't get a early goal to settle things down.
We are on a very good run though, we should most probably roll Newcastle over because they're defense have been ridiculously poor this season, putting it as nicely as I can.
So yeah, all we can do is hope for the best.
C'mon Arsenal!!!

Why is Pardew offering bonuses to the staff??? Why not the players? They're the ones who can get the result at the end of the day...
