Results wise he did great job there, but often they were too negative and unimaginative on the pitch, especially when you consider that Stoke's net transfer spend has been above-average in the league.

But still, that kept them in the league to this day and that pressure will be quite heavy on whoever takes the reigns at the club.

It came after the news that his proposal to replace the standard goalposts at the Britannia with 11 footers and to lose the net entirely was rejected by the owners
