Re: Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho - Bayern vs Chelsea
Robben played under Mourinho at Chelseea. We never had these problems.rwo power wrote:Doesn't this negate the claims that Mou is a master of man management? Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben formerly were also known to be pretty lazy in tracking back and defending, but obviously Jupp Heynckes managed to instill the necessity of that into them nonetheless - and Robben is known to be quite a primadonna, too.Blue Barrett wrote:Not to mention he had Ozil & Di Maria who are shite at defending/tracking back and also Ronaldo who doesn't defend nearly as much as he should for an athlete of his caliber. There were a lot of things that mad his time at Madrid difficult.
Fergie couldn't convince Ronaldo to defend either. No one can convince Ronaldo, tbh.Why then couldn't José Mourinho adequately convince Cristiano Ronaldo?
For a man that loves defending, you don't think he tried to teach them? If a player doesn't have it in him, sometimes he just doesn't have it. What, are we going to ask him to teach Mata how to defend next? And if Angel di Maria and Mesut Özil are "shite at defending/tracking back" - why doesn't he teach them how to do it? Im Germany the official title of an UEFA Pro coach is "Fußballlehrer", that is, "football teacher", and the expection of a football teacher is just that: teach your players how to play football properly.

Nah I'm not taking it personal and I've been careful to point that outjibers wrote:blue everything Dani has said is true tbh. I don't know why you are taking it so personally. Madrid did well when teams opened up. When teams sat back last season he didn't knw how to coach breaking them down. Same issue he has had all his career.
Its just that the initial posts stopped short of calling him a poor tactician which is clearly an exaggeration.
Its been a good debate though. Haven't gone back and forth this long on GL for a while now

José Mourinho really doesn't do himself any favours with comments like he did after the Super Cup. I'm watching the Doppelpass football talk at Sport1 and the pundits there ridicule him extensively for his behaviour then and in former outings - "That wasn't supposed to be a sending off? Only in Mourinho land" and stuff like this. The consensus is that he's turning himself more and more into a caricature of himself.

Re: Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho - Bayern vs Chelsea
Are people still wound up by his comments? Managers spout bollocks all the time , get over it. The only difference is the media make a big deal out of every single one of his and annoyingly over-analyze it.
Pep is a fake humble guy, Fergie was a c**t like Mourinho and same with Wenger & Rafa. No one cares about the other managers.
And Ramires was unlucky by the way. Not much he could do to get out of Gotze's way, look at the replay and you see Luiz pushed him into Ramires' path.
Probably the correct decision but not much he could have done to prevent it.
No idea how this reached 30 pages? Are people still arguing over the same stuff since 2005? Jesus

Wound up? In Germany media and pundits are laughing at Mou for his comments and make fun of him.

Re: Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho - Bayern vs Chelsea
I just watched a FC Basel video where (among other things) team administrator Gustav Nussbaumer was interviewed about the CL group of Basel. About Schalke he said he was looking forward to meeting the 3rd or 4th power in Germany who will be a great opponent, while his main comment about Chelsea was: "And Chelsea... If you have watched Mourinho again [on Friday], the way he danced around at the sideline, that alone is a big spectacle..."
