Rest in Peace.

We must always remember tragedies like this. Doesn't matter who you support.

Mad respect, Red.

Wow. Crazy how time flies.

I obviously wasn't born but I remember hearing about this after 20 years. Seems like just yesterday.

Rest in peace.

In a lot of ways, the hooligans of Liverpool destroyed their dynasty. Tragedy aside... Liverpool got a 10 year European ban that was later reduced to 6. While a lot of the other big clubs in England and Europe were starting to recruit internationally for superstars, Liverpool lost its attraction because of the ban. Once their current crop of great players retired or degraded, there was nobody to really replace them.

I remember i was stunned watching this on TV. I was a massive Juve and Platini fan and this was supposed to be the greatest club football game ever. Can't believe that they played the game. Nobody wanted to play and the game was a complete waste of time.

Very luck it wasn't worse. The tifosi of Juve who were on the other end of the stadium rushed the field before the game and were running to confront the Liverpool hooligans directly. The Belgian police were only just able to stop them... if that had happened, the deaths would have been in the 100s. On TV, you saw some of them with knives, pipes and chains in their hands while they were running.
