I hope Dinklage gets an Emmy. He was nominated for the best supporting actor.

Isn't that his second or third emmy nomination?

First season of GOT wasn't nominated? Not taking anything from the great third season, but season 1 was near perfect and superior to season 3 imo. And it wasn't even nominated at that time?

Season 1 was very rushed. Season 3 has better source material and had the benefit of having more time to spend on each story. In my opinion S3 is vastly superior to S1.

I believe Emilia Clarke is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama as well.

Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna) has been nominated for Best Guest Starring Actress

I just can't seem to get into this show. I tried watching the first 3 episodes, but I feel like I am forcing myself to get into it. My brother swears it's the best thing ever and convinces me to persist with it.

I'm gonna give it another shot.

You guys should watch the first 23 videos (at least) in this playlist, they're the bonus features in the season 2 dvd/bluray. this really cleared up a lot for me, it explains basically the history of the game of thrones universe (roberts rebellion, aegon the conquerer, children of the forest, bran the builder, sack of kings landing etc.) and it is narrated by the actors of the show, they are really great videos, I highly recommend them.

Not needed if you read the books :coffee:

But seriously if non-book readers don't plan to read the books at all, they should check this out, at least Robert's Rebellion/War Of The Usurper.

I have started reading the books. Despite knowing all the story, i can't put it down lol. Reading the 1st one atm and the amount of details that are in there which didn't make the TV show is astonishing.

Also reading from the 1st book, and knowing the stuff till the red wedding from the TV Show. There are so many clues in there which now makes you go "Oh GRR Martin you sly dog" Laughing

He is a genius author.

However i don't think i will read further than where the TV Show is at.

Biggest lie ever. You wont be able to stop yourself and its better to read it first and then see how they portray it on TV after than the other way round.

I only started reading the books after season 2. Then watching season 3 when I had already read ASOS was even better than the first two seasons.

No didnt lose interest at all. Basically the day after season 2 finished, I went on Amazon and ordered all the books.

Book one is the best adaptation so far imo. In the second half you'll notice the biggest differences from the TV show. Dreams/Prophecies/what characters are actually thinking etc.

rg to be in the books thread within 6 months Thumbs up

but yeah, the foreshadowing for robb's failures are pretty strong in the books, i felt both him and ned were shown as much more foolish in the books which made their deaths make much more sense when they finally happened. obviously not that i knew the red wedding was coming before it did though.

As tempting as it sounds, I'm still not touching the books. I hate spoilers with all my heart and soul Laughing

Can't afford to know what's gonna happen already when I'm watching a TV show. Ruins it for me.

YES  Proud

I'll see you in the book thread soon Very Happy

And word of advice, seriously continue reading. It won't ruin the TV show at all, it will actually make the experience even better. Trust me, I know and nearly everyone who read the books also agree. Anyway finish it quickly so we can talk about theories in the book thread banana
