Granovskaia’s elevation to the Chelsea board may only have just been ratified but, in fact, she has been helping pull the strings at Stamford Bridge for much, much longer. So much so that when Abramovich decided to reappoint Mourinho, it was Granovskaia he dispatched to lure the Portuguese back to London.

It has even been suggested her endorsement of Mourinho helped convince Abramovich to turn to the man he sacked almost six years ago.

More then likely some tool jurno has asked him "Jose, how mnay which other clubs made you offers before you accepted the Chelsea job?". Of course hes not going to tell the truth, and of course hes not going to say none, so he gives an answer that answers the junos question without telling him anything

More likely that he's just repeating it like a broken pullstring doll to ensure that his fanboys don't pull the wool off from over their eyes and realise he's just saying anything he can to butter them up knowing they'll be more than happy to lop up every last bit of whatever he feeds them.
