Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Incredibly dissapointed in HIMYM.I mean they give us two filler seasons only for the mother to look like crap;I mean she's not crap but with Ted praising her to the moon for the last eight years I expected much better.
Also her teeth piss me off.I've repeated the scene about 8 or 9 times and every single time I feel the urge to get a sledgehammer(Courtesy of Triple H)and crush them all.
How Rachel Bilson(in character) could feel “below” this one and envy her like crazy is beyond my comprehension. Putting Bilson as my standard, I always pictured the mother to be “more” than her.
Still it'll be interesting to see how they reveal how she was in Farhampton at the time of Victoria's wedding and in Farhampton at the time of Robin's wedding.

Not sure who watches Mad Men here, but that last episode was insane.....I had no idea what was going on for maybe half of that episode.....and I liked it

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
anyone catch the one EP of the Zombieland tv show?
didn't get picked up after the pilot and id say that is the correct decision. Wasn't so much cause they changed the actors but the plot was horrible.
But supernatural after two seasons of mediocrity is getting better again , cant wait for next season

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Not sure I agree, just because I won't know what happened and what didn't until the next episode. Had there been some sense of closure of what was going on and what happened that would be one thing, but even the Don Draper "I didn't have a heart attack" comment to Sally really didn't really provide any guidance. I'll hold judgment until I see how it bookends with the upcoming episodes.
It was entertaining to say the least though

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Yeah I hear that. Because of how scatterbrained this episode was, it has to go done as one of the most "un-Mad Men" Mad Men episodes of the entire series. I think a departure from the usual dignified, suave and well-oiled mechanics of each episode that we've come to adore also makes this episode appealing to me. Changing it up every so often rarely hurts shows of this calibre.

- John Hurt is an older forgotten doctor, one who was evil probably the one that killed everyone during the war.
btw in the older versions of Who it was stated that Time Lords can only regenerate 12 times

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
- Spoiler:
- Yes, it seems most likely that Hurt was the version that ended the Time War by destroying both the Time Lords and the Daleks. However, it is debatable whether he was actually evil or simply committed an evil act for the greater good. "What I did, I did without choice.... ....in the name of peace and sanity," is not someone reveling their action but someone attempting to justify something that they feel guilty and ashamed of.
As he's been introduced it's safe to assume he WILL play a role at some point and with the time travel aspect and the fact that he (Smith Doctor) has entered his own time stream there they could play with the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey concept. It could simply be explained that by entering his time stream the Doctor ended up causing some type of paradox wherein there is a loop or he became aware of a later generation that committed some other, yet unmentioned atrocity.
The older versions were limited to 12 regenerations by the council or w/e the ruling body was, but they could potentially regenerate more than 12 times if allowed. There's really no telling if that limit still applies or not, and even if it does they'll find some means of getting around that.

It's a solid show for what it is, but yeah the acting is quite weak. It is one of those shows where just about everyone is now quite well known and you just see more often around TV.

There are tons of feminists demanding the next doctor be women
i won't mind Q (Ben Whishaw), he seems like a more serious type actor and i want darker, or hell Richard Ayode for the fun, a sarcastic doctor would be so epic . The doctor has a be small films/tv guy because Who is half a year/year long thing, so anyone who has signed up for big movies or tv shows for the next few years is out
btw this always cracks me up, Rowan Atkinson is a genius
