I think the system has changed a bit.Kroos isnt fitting in at all in this match and I think the rumours about Pep wanting to let him go may be true as Thiago has outshined him by far. Also You can tell that Lahm is really not satisfied with his peformance.

Wonder what's he thinking

The man is strange. Lahm is also the best crosser. Makes no sense tbh. Thiago being played as a pivote is wasted for me as well. He is best closer to goal, as he is the best operator in tight spaces bar Goatze in that team.

LMFAO. The Bayern board will never allow their most talented player to leave. Kroos is the most talented player in that Bayern team. LOL.

Welll tbh Lahm is one of the best full backs at keeping the ball.He almost never gives the ball away?So that is where I think Pep has got this idea from but he has lesss space in midfield.

You don't question a man who has won 15 trophies in 4 years.

Besides its just a friendly it means nothing what he does.

Silly comparison. Kroos was Bayerns best player before his injury. Ronaldinho was part of the old phase and needed to go for Pep to stamp his authority and Barcelona were in tatters. Bayern are the clear best team in Europe. The Bayern board will never let their most prized youth product go. They aren't as inept as Barcelona.

Thiago is clearly playing as the lone dm/cm.Lahm looking like the odd player over there lol Muller as false 9,Robben and Ribery with completely free roles.

Entertaining as hell, but as i said earlier, lets see how these tactics will pull out against top teams

Thiago, like Xavis wasted playing the pivote. His dynamism means he can operate in quite tight spaces like Xavi and Iniesta. Rijkaard saw this and pushed Xavi further forward. Robben has been awesome. The biggest thing for me is the emphasis of building from the back and the pressing. So Similar to Barcelona in 08/09 atm. I'm guessing that as the team becomes more adept at ball retention then the pressing will gradulaly shift to 10/11 levels in terms of frequency and covering spaces.

didnt think about that, they really are reminding me of Barcelona 08/09.That Barcelona had more decisive forwards compared to Ribery/Muller/Robben though and this could make a world of difference

The forwards were differnt. Ribery is a much better player than Henry was in Barcelona. Robben is slightly below Messi, it's Eto'o that everything changes. The thing that Pep will have trouble changing is their positioning and the way they receive the ball. Thiago is doing the best because he is used to Pep's positional play and instructions.

Mario Götze is still injured. He's expected back in August or so, IIRC.

Bayern's rotation will be like crazy next season.Well they can afford to anyway, atleast in the league.Their bench alone is stronger than most BL teams.
