You have to leave danyjr. The guy only started watching football in 2009 after all. Beckham was one of the best footballers in the bloody world. Best crosser and best free kick taker in Europe at least. It's amazing how quickly people forget how good these players are, then I remember the average age of posters here. lol. How many Barcelona matches have you wathced life Dany?
Pls go.

Re: Class of ’92 hitting the town
Beckham has been and always was massively overrated, he lived off his name even when playing at Man Utd.
He had a couple good seasons in his prime, but hardly the 'best player in the world' as some of you have oddly stated.
Sure, he could cross and take amazing free-kicks, but apart from that he didnt really offer anything else that was memorable or outstanding.
Please do not make the mistake of putting 'celebrity hype' over substance.

I suppose journalists voting him 2nd in the world golden ball and the best player in the cl in 99 means nothing. Just gtfo. Did you even watch him at United? Be honest. When did you start watching football. Don't lie. I have an idea but I want to hear it from the horses mouth. Don't even try saying before 2004, because I will catch you out. I suppose Keane did nothing as well. Beckham was integral to all our title winning sides

wondering where anyone stated he was the best player in the world...
what name was he living off of? because i'm pretty sure his name is famous because his on field game gave him the initial spotlight then the celebrity beckham followed....fact is he was a very good player, and used the fame gained from that to create the celebrity image he now enjoys.
because he didn't do step overs and xavi turns people underrate the player he actually was and use his celebrity as an excuse to crap on him

Get a grip Son, Journo's voting means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Best player in CL 99' ?....In the final Roy Keane and midfielder Paul Scholes both missed out, due to suspension, resulting in David Beckham joining Nicky Butt in centre midfield, he was so good that he was not even first choice.. Oh, you conveniently left that out of your childish rant.
R.Keane has nothing to do with this, so stop trying to divert the current topic at hand.
Ha, the only thing you managed to 'catch' is a dose of reality.

glad you can read wikipedia....not sure if you realize beckham is a winger and was used in central midfield because of the suspensions, had most appearances in europe and domestic that year tied with Roy Keane....not first choice
