Very solid signing. Sandro-Capoue-Dembele, once Sandro comes back, is freakin physical mid... unless they make Capoue a CB, which is what i think will happen. He played a lot of CB at Toulouse last year.

Don't forget they have Paulinho.. Capoue will play CB.

Very good once he got used to it. He played the last 2 months there for them due to injuries. He would go to far up the pitch and take some risks on his passes because he was used to playing midfielder... once he got that straightened out, he was lights out.

What it does for Spurs is that you have a CB who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet. Beast in the air too. very big guy.

Actually the real reason its not progressing is because his agent is being a c*nt and demanding over 2m.

As well as the 5% sell on that St Etienne are entitled to, Aulas is demanding we pay it.

Its far from a lost cause..... we are still closer to a deal than anyone else is.

We have agreed with Lyon and the player, the issue is the agent fees.

Plus its highly unlikely Marseille have the money and even if they do Aulas will prefer to sell to us.

But considering Remy is done as long as we get someone in to give Cisse competition i'm not fussed who it is.

Capoue would be a great signing, Spurs desperately need a CB.

Vertonghen is out for the beginning of the season, probably the first 2 games, maybe first 3. Dawson suffered an injury as well, I'm not sure how long he's out but he'll miss the beginning of the season as well. Kaboul is a bunch of question marks in regards to how fit he is. I doubt he's ready for the EPL yet seeing as he hasn't played at all in the preseason minus a couple minutes.

Meanwhile Caulker was sold so someone needs to fill that void.

More about not having adequate CB's atm than Verts playing LB. I'm pretty sure BAE will be playing LB during the season. There will be rotation between Verts, Capoue, and Dawson. Who the hell knows about Kaboul, I've given up on the guy by now, he'll never be fit again I bet

That is assuming the Capoue deal goes through of course. Spurs are going to grab a CB from somewhere regardless if it falls through.

No this was post the KHalifa signing (who is a midfielder) whic happened this morning. They immediately shifted to Gomis...  and OM have not broken any law.  It's all over the OM boards.  Gomis and his agent are in Marseille right now.  Aulas can huff and puff all he wants lol.

Not sure whats the latest with Gomis and OM but last i heard was that Aulas was very angry about something to do OM's approach.

He scored a lot... but he wasn't the striker for Evian until this year because they had nobody else.  He was the SS and wing player for them the previous 1.5 years since joining.  He's not a natural CF for sure.  He likes to get the ball at his feet and go.

Lyon is upset because they were trying to block contact between OM and Gomis so that Gomis would agree and OM saw the ploy... they contacted Gomis anyhow.  Aulas was trying to be a scumbag per usual.

In any case, if OL get through to CL pool play, they might just keep him imo. Lisandro looks awful.

There's a lot of things that need to happen before you even get close to where we are at.

OM has money this year dude and plenty of it.  We were holding out hope, however thin, for Thauvin but Lille just shut the door a couple of weeks ago.  There was 15 mil allocated to that transaction alone.  So we got Khlifa on the cheap and we have enough money left match the embarrassing bid of 8 mil for Gomis.

That's the truth.  Deal with it.

Gomis never wanted to leave France, which was why things got so ugly.  Lyon told him that there was nobody in France willing to pay the fee and he should deal with it... which he finally decided to do since he had no choice. But now there is a domestic option.  Will Lyon deal with OM?  I don't know.  But Gomis is sure as heck not going to do Lyon any favors and he still doesn't want to leave France.

If its the truth why is basically every media outlet in France saying you need to sell to fund this deal?

He's been liking pictures of our stadium on his instagram page, he's been replying to Newcastle fans on twitter saying i hope to be with you soon and saying he is working on his English and Geordie.

The break down is all to do with agents, nothing to do with Gomis which we are trying to sort out.

He may not join us, this is possible considering how c*ntish the agents are acting but this is deal is far from lost and we are a lot further along than anyone else is and whats more we have actually agreed a fee with Lyon and personal terms with Gomis.

This one has a long way to go before being finalised in any direction.

You know nothing about Marseille at all dude... so just stop.  I don't want to pull out all the details and just embarrass you.  Not worth it.  But so you know... there's an extra 20 mil due to CL and the club is expecting an extra 15-20k in attendance since the seats that were under construction last year are done mostly (it killed attendance the past couple of years).

So the finances are very solid.  Now the issue is that OM got aggressive on Gomis yday and today once they saw how cheaply they got Khlifa.  Gignac is one Big Mac from being obese and Gomis is more consistent, although less talented.  If Gomis came, would Gignac get moved?  Probably.  You guys would likely get a move on Gignac then.

The things holding it up is that OM is not offering anywhere near £70k per week like Newcastle is and Lyon would prefer not to sell to OM.  But OM being in France and part of CL may sway Gomis into taking a paycutt. Aulas won't walk away from 8 mil even if it's from OM at the end of the day... he needs the money. The new stadium in Lyon is killing him.

We shall see.
