They are worth as much as a club is willing to pay for them. If clubs want to spend silly money it is not the players' fault, though ^^

We can't have magic standard evaluations for players that work universally. What they've won, age, what other players of similar quality went for really shouldn't matter

Cause some arsenal fans won't stop complaining about how inflated the market is, cause wenger doesn't want to spend, so get off the high horse and get in the game, even spurs are spending good sums for decent players, why should club lower prices for arsenal when others are willing to pay?

That implies "higher value" = "better player"? Was this ever really true?

If yes, then many English players, who often go for pretty high values, must be world beaters compared to for example some German players who often go for considerably smaller fees.

Last season, only 2 players were more decisive than him, and you know them. Rooney was better than Bale in 2009-10 and 2010-11, does that mean that he is better now ? Bale has taken his game to a level which is only played by the very best players this last season, scoring crucial goals in crucial moments.

I'm pretty sure Higuain scored decisive goals in the 08-09 season. Decisive goals and hype shouldn't be the only thing looked at when determining a players price. Especially if the player's going to cost 100m. Overall ability and other factors have to be looked at.
