Well it's been almost 3 years and I'd say this thread needs a good bump. It's pretty interesting to see who some of us thought would be in the running for a spot in their squad

Although Spain for example haven't changed much. Here's a more accurate potential callup (1st choice, then 2nd):

GK: VV, Iker, DDG

RB: Montoya, Juanfran

CB: Pique, Puyol (maybe); Ramos, Iñigo

LB: Jordi Alba, Monreal

DM: Busquets, Javi

RCM: Koke, Xavi

LCM: Iniesta, Mata(?)

Wingers: Pedro, Navas, Cazorla, Silva

ST: Negredo/Soldado, Cesc

This is a great squad, but has Diego Costa decided his future? If so he would be a lock up front instead of Negredo/Soldado, and if Xavi can't make it then there's Raul Garcia. Same for Puyol, Bartra can step in.

And I haven't seen too much of carvajal so I didn't include him but he's a possibility too. Spain, stacked as always.

Arbeloa will start, as will Xavi over thiago, Del Bosque likes experience in his squad, to start a young player like montoya in the biggest tournament would be out of his character... unless he starts bossing it up out of no where like Buscuit did in 09/10 it's unlikely.
