That album was carried by the featured artists and wont be remembered for dre's beats. The only track in that album where the beat is better remembered than the flow is Xxplosive imo.

You said it wasn't remembered for the beats though, if you said for the raps fair enough somewhat but most of his singles had very iconic beats that people remember today.

The album is not perfect by any means. It's a tad overproduced and Dre's voice is weird in all songs except Talking To My Diary. Talking To My Diary made me think I was listening to the Chronic again :bow:

Same with Just Another Day which made me think I was listening to The Documentary. If that is a sign of howThe Documentary 2 will be like then The Game is well and truly back.

I don't know who this Anderson park guy is but he has an annoying voice.

Dre's cronic 01 has a lot to do with the success of Em's album and Aftermath's hype at the time. It gets coveted like its some kind of classic which I think its not.

But Volume 3, really? I don't think it really holds up to the other 3 albums you listed and certainly not 2001.

Even Jay-Z wouldn't put Vol 3 ahead of 2001, he thinks it's his 10th best album:

Listened to all of Compton.

Half agreed with Mole tbh. 5/16 tracks are World Class. Rest are good to decent to below average.

Still happy he brought out an album though. Nice to see the old snoop and Ice back for a bit.

And agreed with M99 about Documentary 2. Game will kill it.
