Should we sell Sniejder?
Selling Sniejder ?
today he commited himself to the team but it looks like we're gonna sell him if the right offer (35-40 M) came. Its kinda hard to decided on this one knowing that we need the money, and now that we signed alvarez we have a ready replcement, not to mention that Sniejder's second season at Inter wasnt that great so we might wanna cash him out before he has another bad season and loses more value
on the other hand Sniejder is a proven WC player and it was normal for him to lose form after an exhausting season with team and nation, he's very important to our image and he clearly cares about the team and that's something we rarely find in today's players
so are you for selling Sniejder ?

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
i say we only sell him if he wants to leave, thats a first!
and even so for the right money, which should be in my opinion over 35mil Euros..
basically hell no

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
If he genuinley wants to leave then 40m is much more than he's worth. Sanchez with the proceeds and why has the eto'o tevez swap deal not taken place? Eto'o has admitted he wants to leave? Cesar is another player who I think should go due to his poor season. As is Maicon as he wants to go, isn't as good as he was, and will be using 3-4-3 next year.
The thing is Inter were already slumping last year and unless something drastic happens that decline will continue. Cesar is another player who I think should go.
Not sure if I see Alvarez as a first team player yet but think about the possibilities with a few new young players introduced..
-----------------------------------Viviano
------------------Ranocchia--------Lucio-----Silvestre
Sanchez------------Cambiasso-----Banega-------Coutinho/Nagatomo
-----------------------------------Alvarez/Sanchez
------------------------------Tevez-----Pazzini----------------
Rough Finances
Tevez-Eto'o swap + ?
Sanchez- 40m---- Covered by Sneijders sale
Banega- 15m --- Covered by Cesars sale
Silvestre 8m ---- Covered by Maicons Sale?
Yes it would take a while to gel- but you've got a solid foundation for the future- add to that the best primavera in Italy- if not the world- Players like Cristetig who can challenge for Cambiasso's spot and you've got a future champs league winner.

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
The whole idea off selling a star is to keep the money or re invest little of that. Not the whole sum. And Sanchez is not worth 40mil, not in Branca's eyes anyways. Samuel on the bench? You play wc players until they lose their form. Samuel is the best defender we got. I'd much rather keep Eto'o than get Tevez the bipolar also.
OP: If the right price comes he's gone.

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
Why not reinvest the whole sum? If Sneijder wants to go let him go for the right price and reinvest the full sum. Everyone wins.
As for Samuel I meant Silvestre to cover him at the start of the season. After that he could compete for his place. Playing 3 at the back will need more CBs.
Selling Eto'o and Maicon now would be good business. Eto'o will start to decline soon, Maicon has had a bad season and wants to go + he does not fit into a 3-4-3. Sell them whilst the price is so high and don't let what happened with Milito happen again.
I think Tevez would be a fantastic signing and he would be much happier in Italy than in Manchester. A swap deal with Eto'o would be brilliant business.
Sanchez is still my favourite though...
Inter just need to get rid of dead wood before they turn into Juve.
EDIT: Dead wood was very harsh. We'll call it diseased wood

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
we're not playing 3-4-3 or else we wouldnt have signed two full backs in Nogatomo and Jonathan, plus if we're going to play 3-4-3 we would have signed at least one back up CB which we're not doing
we're lining a 4-3-3 where eto and alvarez will probably take the wings and pazzini/milito covering the central spot. That leaves Sniejder with the CM position but then our line up would be too offensive if Eto'o and Alvarez dont contribute in defense. With Sniejder gone though someone like Mota could add more solidity in the middle but then our striker will be isolated. we'll see...

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
Thats what I was thinking but 3-4-3s usually use wingback sort of players dont they?
Example:
Nagatomo--Cambiasso--Banega--Jonathan
------Sanchez-------Pazzini-------Alvarez

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
i mean if we use his cash for Sanchez than i'd say yes.
but thats ONLY if Sneijder wants to leave,
but as it seems he wants to stay,
and it also seems that Sanchez's destiny is to be with Barca

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
Seriously guys,i Would definitely rather sell Eto. Sneijder is exactly the kind of player Inter were missing for ages, but if we can get something like 40 Mill for him and he want to leave I will take the gamble, but only if we can get Pastore !!

Sneijder for Pastore... Hmmm... Yes!

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
Selling sneijder could be suicide, especially if we don't buy another mercurial player. I shutter to think of us returning to the pre-sneijder champs league performances. But who could we buy? Banega+ wc winger?

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
I won't vote so that only Inter fans are counted in the poll, however I'd like to leave my thoughts.
If Sneijder were to be sold, it is imperative that this money is reinvested throughout the squad, particularly in midfield, however such a major squad refurbishment is best achieved under a coach with the full support of the management to fulfil a very clear vision for the squad. There are certain players who will be useful under any coach, however whether key elements persist beyond Gasperini's reign may be questionable if for instance pure wingers are brought in under a 4-3-3 as Zizzle suggested.
Sneijder has been played when injured and not allowed time to recuperate over the past two years, however after some well deserved rest he can leave behind the problems which keep him off the pitch and he's then Inter's most dangerous player in my eyes. If Sneijder were to be sold I personally would wait either for a guarantee of Gasperini's success on the pitch or another coach, at the end of this season.
Also that's some quality ref-crowding in Andii's avatar.

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
i cant believe inter are in the verge of selling sneijder... just for the sake of gasperini's 3-4-3.
i firmly believe hiring gasperini is a big mistake and selling sneijder is a huge one.
sneijder orchestrates everything in midfield, from passing to creating and scoring goals by himself, he is inter's huge asset, even bigger than eto. why would gasperini even dare to not consider him in lineup is beyond belief.
even if im milan fan, i just feel sorry to see sneijder go to premier league. cause serie a is always entertaining to watch because of great player like sneijder.
nagatomo's gonna feel really down, he had just said in japanese tv (NTV) interview, in offseason visit to japan that sneijder is his best friend and he really is good friend with him more than anyone in inter. poor him.

When we say "we need money" it means its to balance the books..
Selling sneijder to fund big money moves for Sanchez or Pastore makes no sense to me..

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
Yeh...I'd like to get Pastore more than anybody
but selling Sneijder for 35m and then spending a similar amount (possibly even more in this ridiculous market) on Pastore makes 0 sense...
Maybe if we could pull 35m for Sneijder and get Pastore for 25/30 so we'd have some money to pocket it would be different, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment...
So I'd say we keep him unless there is a truly ridiculous offer like 40m+ comes in

Re: Selling Sniejder ?
it looks like its gonna be official soon, Sneijder going to Man Utd for 40 mill, i guess that isn't too bad, as long as we use that money wisely. Although i still think keeping Sneijder would've been better.

His wages are a serious issue. We are going for a younger, more balanced cheaper to operate team.
