Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Might as fell give FRIENDS all the comedy awards because it's still shown 50x a day worldwide.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
GoT will still probably lose out in the future. They overlook it way too much. It's great that BB is gone for good now...
However, just remembered there's that Better Call Saul spin-off which is to come. They're probably going to fanboy that.
'Who Goes There?' is the episode which won.
That piece of directing right there at the end (the last 20 min of that episode) was just out of this world. I remember how impressed we all were in the TD thread right after watching it.
And it was also the first time in TD that the series really gathered some real intense action and momentum.

Can't comment on best directing since I haven't seen True Detective. Their episode must have been 10/10 if it won ahead of 'The Watchers on the Wall'

Even Ozymandias did not deserve to win? So what is widely regarded as the greatest episode of all time did not deserve to win? So this season of Breaking Bad did not deserve to win anything. 99 on Metacritic ffs

You do know shows for metacritic is usually based on episode 1 of the season. Which pretty much means that the hype from the previous season carries over, therefor the last episode of season 4 is the reason for that rating. It is also much better than Ozymandias imo.
So metacritic isn't really valid to use as an argument when talking about tv shows.

I don't understand how this works tbh. Season 4 meta score is 96 and season 5 is 99. What does that mean then?
I knew Ozymandias would win the Emmy as soon as the episodes aired. Can't believe that it's victory is being marked down as robbery. I do agree Dinklage and McConaughey were robbed though.

They gather the reviewers ratings from the first episode and they take the averages, which is a stupid way to go about it. So a new show can never really get a great metacritic score. As opposed to a great show in season 3 like BB who has a huge fanbase, and will get great reviews. Because even though the first episode might be below par, the show is still great and the whole show will be judged in the review for a single episode.
I agree with you. Ozymandias was a deserved winner, though TD episode was close imo. about 55/45 I thought.

When i'm talking about Robbery i'm talking about GOT in general got raped in every department
It's unimaginable to think that show didn't do enough to get any real recognition in these awards.

How did it not get any recognition? Not beating TD or BB is hardly a robbery. As much as I love Dinklage (which was their only chance for one of the big ones) he only had like 5 minutes to shine in his episode that was submitted, while Aaron Paul has so much more time to make an impression. The robbery was Matthew McConaughey, Bomer not winning (seriously wtf ), Tatiana Maslany who was the best female lead by far and wasn't even nominated, Billy Bob Thornton not winning for Fargo... Also Modern Family beating Orange is The New Black. Ty Burrell beating Andre Braugher was also horrible. Overall horrible awards.. Giving to the safe choice instead of the best choice.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
Think the reason for that is GoT is rated R and is not for everyone. People even after 5 seasons can't understand wtf happened or who is that scrub coming from Dorne. Mates still text me saying Olenna is Maergery's mum rather than grandmother lol. It's a difficult show so critics probably say f u to it. same reason why Modern Family wins every year in oppose to shows like Orange is the new black.
Breaking Bad was for everyone and ever kid, teen or adult could watch it or watched it. It has universal approval because it's that kind of show.
I understand why they gave it tbh.

Yea I am most pissed about McConaughey not winning for TD. That performance was oscar worthy nevermind Emmys.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
I guess the complex factor does go against GOT, but tbh that's shit in itsself
Shows should be rewarded for keeping amazingly high standards throughout multiple storylines.
For me, a show as amazing as GOT has been not walking away with anything is a let down

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
It did win 4 Emmys though, although for costumes, make-up and such. But seriously, other than Dinklage giving Paul a run for his money, what should they have won?
I don't think it's because it's complex, it's probably the most popular show in the world as of now.

Doesn't change the fact that they aren't submitted to the same categories.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
P.D should have recieved an award, hands down
Carried an already GOAT show with unreal acting. If he wasn't good enough to win an award with this then something's wrong

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 3
They only submit 1 episode of the entire season for judgement from the jury. So there's always the chance that they chose a wrong episode for Dinklage. How much screentime did he have in the court episode?
