There are no studies that show you have immunity if you have been infected with covid! Further there are no studies that show how long antibodies survive and are effective.

I thought this was an ATP thing.

Which is why it seemed obvious what the outcome would be. Australia is being very strict with the whole situation and this would require a specific exemption that breaks protocol with all they have been doing.

of course there aren't... because they aren't being done or they aren't being made public because the vaccine agenda has to be pushed...

but just using common sense logic you can understand the biology of the situation... if you recover from the actual virus that is much better than boosting your immune system with a smaller protein strain of the virus contained in the vaccine.

Australia has really surprised everyone I think by their policies n handling of Covid... used to always spam they are the free-est country in the world, in fact they've been one of the most harsh after Covid? Mind boggling...

congrats on Rafa, Novaxx is basically already two behind considering French Open is next up.

think reality has set in for a lot of Federer fans, it's certainly still valid to make an argument as to why you think he is the GOAT, but it's gunna be harder and harder to do so as Rafa probably ends with 23 or 24 and the sky is still the limit for Novaxx's total

but i made this post earlier on Twitter and a few people agreed with me. This is what i think of the big 3:
Federer - magician/artist
Nadal - fighter
Djokovic - technically the most complete player of the 3

it's all a matter of taste, and just like sportsman such as Messi and Steph Curry, i usually side with the magicians and artists, the player that has that something special.

The GOAT term and concept in sports is most of the time used in incredibly flawed and simpleminded ways.

Just because someone has the most titles doesn't necessarily mean they are "the best," what does being "the best" even mean?

In my opinion, Novak arguably has the most complete set of evidence on his side (titles wise, player profile wise, physical wise, competition wise, etc) for being the most complete player of and in modern tennis as it has been generally played for the last 20 years. Aside from the fact that I think he took too much aggressiveness and power away from his strokes and sensibilities as a player (young Novak had more aggressive sensibilities and had "bigger" strokes and perhaps even more winners than his older, more successful versions), I think he has everything. I also have some bias because he's my favorite and he's a bit of a role model and hero for me.

I don't think Nadal would be the "greatest" of his time even if he won 25 and Fed and Novak stayed at 20. I take the first two over Rafa every day of the week in terms of completeness as players and accomplishments.

We have been blessed as a generation tbh, I think we've seen some of the greatest athletes of all time across many sports.

I think as humanity has reached like 95% of it's physical potential, it's not going to be so easy for next generations to top what these guys are doing as they squeze out the final 5%.

In my opinion, even though it's hard to compare eras, I believe for instance Ronaldo and Messi are far better than Pele or Maradona ever were, as I believe Lebron is better than Jordan ever was. Not more talented, but the advances in training snd evolution of the game itself has made the modern generations better overall.

The same in tennis, I think it's gonna be a while until we see such talent, especially 3 times at once in a generation as now, with Roger, Rafa and Novak.

Novax is best though.

After being 2 sets down, Nadal had no right to win that match.

I don't believe I've heard of Iga Swiatek, but world champions in volleyball is pretty impressive.

Speaking of tennis, a distant relative of mine, Casper Ruud is playing against Rafa Nadal in the finals of French Open tomorrow Very Happy

Although i'm a massive Novak fan, I have to acknowledge the awesomeness of Rafa, not only because he's a Madridista, but also because there's no other way I can cope with his +2 grand slam advantage now. Embarassed

Would be absolutely incredible to see him as Real Madrid president, which is something he's been vocal about in the past, his uncle has mentioned the possibility, and I believe Flo has also given him his blessing in the media.

If tennismen were to cross over to find their match in world football, then I think it would go something like this:

1. Rafa -> Ronaldo: beast mentality and a perfect all-rounder.
2. Roger-> Messi: elegance and towering technique.
3. Monfils -> Ibra: No other player on court can ever replicate some of the points that Monfils has scored over the years. Similarly, some of Ibra's goals are simply irreplicable. Both are great athletes as well.
4. Dimitrov -> Giroud: handsome face, decent talent.
5. Sampras -> Zidane: when they play, you watch and keep quiet because you are in the presence of greatness.
6. Roddick -> Sneijder: They have cannons for hands and legs respectively.
7. Nole - ?: I don't know about this one. You will have to find a football player with incredible talent and lots and lots of trophies, AND with the tantrum of a child.

Yeah, I think it's kind of cool, although I don't know him and have only ever met his grandmother, who's my grandfather's sister The official Tennis thread - Page 41 1f605

He was slaughtered by Nadal in the final lol. I think he's only 22 or so, so he's got plenty of time to improve.

Would say Novak is more Ronaldo than Nadal. He will undoubtedly outlast everyone on Grand slams. Nadal is maybe Suarez or Benzema.

Nadal is one of the big three and the leading winner in GS wins, his match must be a generational player with many BdO.

He definitely has Benzema's class though (he never smashed one racket in his career while Benzema has never been sent off). Suarez can't be in the discussion because he's a major asshole.

Suarez's match is maybe Ivanisevic Laughing

good comps DoC, agree with both you and RG, Ronaldo works for Nadal and for Novak, but maybe more so for Novak when you factor in the bratty tantrums.

Nadal - di Maria? both workhorses with left limb beautiful technique
or maybe Nadal - Pele? statpadded when they had a clear talent advantage on a certain court or certain era

I'm curious as to what Tennis final do you guys consider to be the most epic in tennis history?

I nominate 2008 Wimbledon final between Nadal and Federer (6/4, 6/4, 6/7, 6/7, 9/7). Game lasted 4 hours and 48 minutes and had both players in their prime and in beast mode.

Who can top it?

Wimbeldon this year has been so far a rollercoaster of emotions.

On the one hand, I'm really happy that fellow countrywoman, Ons, has made it to the final, making it the first ever Tunisian to do it. On the other hand, I'm a little worried about Nadal's injury and the possibility that he may not be ready for the semis. Kyrgios doesn't stand a chance against Nole in the final, as opposed to Rafa.

Also, I don't like Kyrgios' disrespectful attitude, so there's that (If he were a footballer, he would definitely be playing for Atlético).
