Boy, I tell ya.....Roma players getting absolutely no love anywhere.

Germany should progress from their group with any goalkeeper and their knock-outs would start on 30 June or 1 July, so it would be enough if Neuer is fit then and I'm sure he will be.

Shoulder injuries are really the biggest thing for a keeper though... on the same level as leg injuries. I would be worried about Neuer.

I feel they certainly have a good chance to go far in the tournament but won't find themselves winning it. Take a look at their potential path to the final, there's no way they can beat some of the heavyweights (that's not to say it's impossible, however).

I'm sure Julian Green and DeAndre Yedlin with their combined 3 caps will offer more to the US squad at the World Cup than Landon Donovan would have.

As a huge Landon Donovan fan, I'm hugely disappointed.

End of an era then....Landycakes had it right when it said he was on the bubble as much as anyone.

Humble guy truly and he'll support the team fully, I'm sure.

I can see not starting him... But to not include him on the roster? Or at least wait to announce the 23 after the friendlies?

One thing I'll say is that Klinsmann has guts. There must be more to this than we know. I feel like Klinsmann rewards desire and attitude. Yes, some players where picked over him that aren't as good.. But perhaps they showed in camp that they wanted the spots more. I feel like if we are gonna make it out of the group everyone has to be 100% committed. Or at least I suppose that is how Klinsmann sees it.

Altidore has had a terrible year and season, I suppose he had been shown favor because of his dedication and has worked very hard to get passed it. Where as I feel donovan has had a ''woe is me'' attitude for very long.

Despite all that I really just can't believe he's not on the roster at all. I can sort of see Klinsmann's logic but its really hard to justify it based on what we know.

It kills me that he won't be able to add to that.

Either way this is going to define the rest of Klinnsmann's tenure with USA, for good or worse.

Time for some of these 1-cap players to step up though. We have to move on and see who's ready to emerge as the next big thing for USA.
