Isn't that what it's being reported that is being asked for Cuadrado and also for Marquinhos. Out of the 3, Boateng would be the best option, no? Then you got Verm and Agger both linked to us for like 15M....but do we really want either of those 2?

I mean....this board really backs us into a tight corner with the options they pick lol

I dont think many Barca fans who seen Verm the last like 3 years would think Vermaelen is that much better than Bartra.

He is just 6 ft but he's not bad in the air. He's young yet, has La Liga experience and I rate him. I haven't watched enough of Villareal to really give any in depth analysis of him...all I can say is that I've liked what I've seen of him. One stumbling block is that River Plate takes 35% (or 30%) of the fee and his agent is taking a slice as well, so the stumbling point right now for Tottenham is that Villareal wants to sell him at a high price since they're not getting the full fee (maybe not even half of it).

We can offer more money but I'm not sure how much he's worth.

I like what I see, I like the fact he is relatively experienced at just 24 years old and I like his defensive ground game. But I am not blown away by him in my rare viewings.

Would rather others for a similar fee.

But would rather him than Vermaelen at ANY fee. So he is a middle option in my mind.

We paid 20m for a 30 year old defender with no resale value. We paid 12m for our back up goalkeeper. We paid 80m for a player we strictly did not need and will not be able to play 1/4 of the season.

I really don't want to hear "we don't have the money for a CB".
