Those type of comparisons aren't isolated incidents. If you read the RM section you would know that.

He was poor for the entire first half of a season and looked out of shape. How the hell are people who support the club supposed to react?

Temporary loss of form? He's had 1 (one) great season at Madrid, 2011/2012 season. All his other season have been hot and mostly cold.

just to make it easier for noobs, start of the season the team as a whole sucked, but benzema gotta be singled out for "winding chad up" , anyway di maria was horrible at RW, isco was horrible at AM and cr just shoots, so who would provided service? when di maria and isco was primarily looking to shoot or pass to CR, again tell how he wouldn't struggle at the time? even on form he hardly got a touch of the ball regardless and he ran a lot too 10 km a game, so he wasn't lazy even everyone was saying that without checking the stats and carlo said plenty of times he asked benz to play pure striker cause adit and co was too blind to tell the difference between 9 or 9.5, go figure right

I think Gerrard deserves a mention.
He's constantly under scrutiny for both club and country.

Some players are rightfully under temporary scrutiny due to exceptional circumstances.. ie they have had an unusually good or bad season. Ie Costa, Ramsey.

But Gerrard seems to have been under the microscope his entire career. I suspect this is because he is a player who also gains a lot of respect through his non-technical qualities.
