Liverpool should just give 15m € to Freiburg for Bürki, problem solved for the next decade lol.

In fact they could just randomly pick any lower table small BuLi club and make a blind bid for their goalie, no scouting required, they'll be alright.

Well, they obviously only scout players > 25 mio Euros or so, because the fans demand "superstars" and cheaper players are obviously no superstars.

Pretty sure they have heard of scouting though, and also pretty sure I wouldn't necessarily call them all 'idiots'.
It's not a given that a player that performs in the Bundesliga would or will perform in the PL, for whatever reason.
Sometimes PL clubs get good value for money from BuLi, like City with Kompany and Dzeko, sometimes not so much.

Add to that the problem RWO mentions, that prize has impact on perceived importance.
People who earn shitloads will buy jeans for 400€ a pair even if the design or quality is arguably not better than a 80€ pair.
And if they have a pair of each, if push comes to shove they'll probably wear the 400€ pair for a night out.

That's why Holtby possibly got less playing time precisely BECAUSE he was so cheap, which is by the way a point Reus might want to consider before using his dirt cheap release clause to join Real or Chelsea.

Indeed. I remember an interview with Yann Sommer (clever guy that he is ^^), who said that he was actually happy that Basel didn't let him go to Fiorentina for 3 or 4 million Euros in 2013, even though personally he would have earned more there, because then the people in Itally probably wouldn't  have valued him properly and he might have found himself on the bench, while now his transfer fee of 8 mio in the last year of his contract made him the 3rd most expensive goalie ever in Germany and people would acknowledge him properly also due to that and not just due to his performance.

Well, kicker's ratings have the same problem as most other media have when they are rating goalkeepers: Only those who get a lot of shots on their goal and save them can get top ratings.

Other keepers who are great, but get less to do, are usually only rated as "average" as the usual mark for a goalie who might even have kept a clean sheet, but who didn't make numerous spectacular saves, is just "average" in their books.

hmm, at the moment actually both Fährmann from Schalke and Wiedwald from Franfurt are rated ahead of him.
That being said, Fährmann is tied with Boateng for 2nd place of all players, Wiedwald is 3rd and Bürki 4th best rated player overall

If you refer to the ratings which are the average of the respective matchday ratings

Pep is without a doubt the greatest coach I have witnessed in my lifetime.

I love the modernity of his tactics, but I happen to - personally - be more impressed by versatility in coaches, but most of all, by the ability to achieve success with limited means. And after Barca and Bayern... I would just love to see what Pep can do at a club like Lille or BMG.

And, after his work starting to show at Bayern, I want to make clear that I don't say this to take anything away from Pep. Because if I could, I would. You all know I hate the guy. But he's clearly doing good work at Bayern, and it's starting to really pay off.

It's just, when I am to put a coach on his pedestal, he better have won something with little money to spend. That's why I love Klopp, Favre, and loved Hitzfeld. And why I thought Blanc was really great.

Tbf he did manage our Barca B team that was relegated and he made them into quite a force winning a title, while playing extraordinary football. The reason why he was considered for the first team job and I doubt any manager given the opportunity to coach their boyhood club would reject the chance too.

The thing is Pep got a shot at the top right off the bat and he exceed expectations, hence why I don't see him going to coach any mid table team, unless no club wants him. I doubt any manager would go down unless they didn't have a good contract from the top clubs, which would not be the case for Pep.

On the side note I would personally like to see him go Milan someday, because I do believe he would do wonders, perhaps not exactly Bayern/Barca type, but you never know.
