God pep has turned bayern into barca. All they do is just pass it back and force between their midfielders and defenders. He has even turned Xabi into a Busquets destroying his main strength which is his accurate long balls

Freiburg look really comfortable out there although they aren't attacking

If by 'Freiburg are comfortable' you mean that we haven't converted one of our so far 3-4 top chances after 25 minutes I guess you're right hmm

Roman Bürki is quite a capable keeper, too, and could annoy Bayern a little. ^^

I see Bayern have scored two. They must have started attacking when I stopped watching. Pep saw Beckenbauer through the corner of his eyes and thought shite we better start attacking and stop wasting time passing the ball around the backline

There are more goalies where Yann Sommer, Roman Bürki, Diego Benaglio and Marwin Hitz came from. :coffee:

(Maybe Liverpool should rather take a look at Yvon Mvogo if they want to sign a cheap, young and good keeper... )

Liverpool should just give 15m € to Freiburg for Bürki, problem solved for the next decade lol.

In fact they could just randomly pick any lower table small BuLi club and make a blind bid for their goalie, no scouting required, they'll be alright.

Another great save, again against Bernat.

Bernat with 3 great chances spoilt by Bürki lol.

Another great performance by Bernat though, has played in every league game so far for us, what a good signing.

I love the modernity of his tactics, but I happen to - personally - be more impressed by versatility in coaches, but most of all, by the ability to achieve success with limited means. And after Barca and Bayern... I would just love to see what Pep can do at a club like Lille or BMG.

And, after his work starting to show at Bayern, I want to make clear that I don't say this to take anything away from Pep. Because if I could, I would. You all know I hate the guy. But he's clearly doing good work at Bayern, and it's starting to really pay off.

It's just, when I am to put a coach on his pedestal, he better have won something with little money to spend. That's why I love Klopp, Favre, and loved Hitzfeld. And why I thought Blanc was really great.

Funny thing is, that you could probably get someone proven like Bürki, or even Trapp, for like 5m.

It's just the way we perform every week, game after game after game. It's crazy.
Mind you, I love Hitzfeld dearly obviously, but I remember how we used to play sometimes, after CL games. Away at small teams. In games we didn't care about. Bayerndusel etc.

This doesn't happen anymore. No more bad games. We're never outplayed, we always control the whole thing, whether we win 1:0, 4:0, or the rare draw.
Stable setup, clear and orchestrated passing and positioning, incredibly few goals conceded, some pretty goals thrown in.
Week after week after week.
A lot of injuries - hell, the framework is so well functioning, players like Bernat (10m from Valencia, La Liga fans scratching their heads on here) just come in and perform.

Now of course this is also due to the team that has grown over the years which has crazy mentality and balance, van Gaal's coaching has contributed, Jupp's impressively souvereign way of man management and his stepping up of our pressing etc.
But Pep has intensified the whole thing, it's just unbelievable. Under Jupp there were more games where we relied on standards to score, more fruitless possession even in the worse games.
You know it too.

You know very well that it isn't easy to come in after a triumph like 2013.
You know very well that it's astonishing that bar Mandzukic Pep gets along with every player.
If things don't work out the first 30 minutes, Pep makes a change and voila we usually win the game.

Crazy shit.
There's no arguing over taste, if you dislike someone so be it, but not acknowledging what kind of superlative coaching performance this is is not an option imo.

Wow. Bayern vs Freiburg was the fairest match in Bundesliga history since such data has been collected. Only 8 fouls in the whole match! o_O

the foul by Schuster on Lewandowski was nasty though, wouldn't be surprised to read tomorrow that Lewa is injured.
