Manquillo's loan has a (relatively cheap) option to buy. I think it will depend entirely on who plays better.Yohan Modric wrote:Manquillo was signed on loan. Can't see him being a regular at the start, probably will rotate with Johnson.
Swansea resigned Sigurdsson this summer, Shelvey is no longer a guaranteed starter.Tomwin Lannister wrote:Shelvey does have dem luscious locks of hair tbf.
Solid defense to be honest. At least 3 of those players are likely regular starters.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:My bench is disgusting lol.
Cameron, Bojan, Myhill and Wisdom

Nah I ended up spending 5.0 on my last midfielder as Hoilett, that left me enough to swap Krul for Howard.

Re: GL Fantasy Football: 14/15 Season
Just made some changes again to accommodate Diego Costa .
Begovic
Davies, Cahill, Debuchy
Ramsey, Hendo, Sterling, Mata
Rooney, Costa, Bojan
Bench: Speroni, Mutch, Collins, Wisdom
I always want a strong start....this team on paper can rack up a lot of points in that first round.

I'm thinking of doing the same for Sturridge, just not sure how

I can get Sturridge if I drop Silva for 7.5 player, Bojan for Zamora and Cameron for 4m scrub

Swap Silva with 7.5 Mirallas imo.

Any 7.5's look like they will stat pad?
Seems like 8+ is where the game changing midfielders all lye.

I think Mirallas is a doubt. It's far too early to be having starting players missing games when the season's not even started yet.

There's ones with potential like Cabella and Markovic but no certainties

Yeh he's a doubt, hopefully he makes it.
Will decide on Friday. If I do replace him, I'll probably swap Costa for Lukaku and put Oscar/Eriksen/Sterling in midfield.
If it's Eriksen, then it should give me an extra 1m to get a top GK.

Also the option of getting Costa and then swapping Silva for an 8 or 8.5

What players that you do not own concern you ? since there are many good players this year in EPL and you can't have them all.
For me it is Yaya, Sturridge, Sanchez and Hazard.

Re: GL Fantasy Football: 14/15 Season
Had sturridge, Costa, Roo front 3 to start with
Only Roo remains
I traded Cesc for Silva, needed City representation.
I worry about Costa, Sturridge, Cesc and Gerrard
Yaya to me looks like he'd have to out-do himself to live up to that insane price tag. Not too worried about him
I have Girooney upfront, I would've worried about both had I not had them tbh

Re: GL Fantasy Football: 14/15 Season
In my experiences, trying to predict the value players before the season starts never works out if you try to pick too many of them. You have to pick guys who you know will have good seasons, fill all the other slots with scrubs, and gradually introduce the players who turn out to be better than their price-tag suggests when it becomes clear who these players are.
If you make a team of players around 6.0 who you think might over-perform, you might end up with a bunch of flops if you predict incorrectly. For example, one 9.0 and two scrubs >>> three speculative 6.0 players. You should never take more than one or two risks IMO.

Re: GL Fantasy Football: 14/15 Season
Agreed with that
You should start the season with proven players imo, after 3-4 games you can then look for a bargain or two as any over-performing player will still have a low pricetag.

Re: GL Fantasy Football: 14/15 Season
I'm mostly worried about Sturridge and Mata. Sturridge is a beast and Mata has a ridiculously easy schedule. Actually, I'm still not convinced I'll be able to keep them out of my team before Saturday.
Cesc could be great but I wanna see where he plays before I get him in. I don't think Gerrard and Yaya are reach the same heights fantasy wise as they did last year.
It might be a little crazy but Lamela might turn things around this year and steal a little bit of Eriksen's thunder.

Sturridge is the main one I don't have who genuinely scares me lol.
Might have to do everything to get him.

If one of my 9.0 mids flop i'll sell them and Giroud for Sturridge + whichever budget mid is tearing it up after matchday 10 or so.

Rooney - Costa - Sturridge looks genuinely tempting but i have to destroy my midfield for it.

My midfield would be non existent if I did that lol.
Rooney and Sturridge is manageable without giving up too much though.

I had it at one point but I reckon it's way too attack heavy, all it takes is for one of them to start lagging behind and you're done.
