With that name he has to be a Swiss Italian. Close enough, at least as far as Viva is concerned.

We've gone into our shell again. Ninja-Keita-De Rossi means a whole lot of lateral passes. Just takes one misplaced pass for Feyenoord to get in behind us and score.

Yes , I thought also Benaglio had Italian origins . Di Matteo is a Swiss-Italian too.

Re: Europa League 2014-15 - Pt.1
Serie Zzzz is now pulling what I call a "bundesliga": get your top teams eliminated in the group stages of the CL so you can stat pad coefficient points in the EL. Learning from the best
All joking aside this has been a very exciting matchday for us calciofaces. 6 out of 6 teams that qualified for Europe are still in it
Tomorrow the draw is released, hopefully there will be no Italian pairings.

Re: Europa League 2014-15 - Pt.1
BTW, Diego Benaglio was the Nr.1 of the Swiss NT for several years until this August. ^^
But today - great job indeed by Benaglio .
(By the way, same goes for Yann Sommer who despite getting 3 goals against him did a great job to stop a couple more sitters by Sevilla).

When did the Bundesliga actually do that though
As far as recall, apart from Werder once and Bayern once no Bundesliga team made it far in EL in the last decade

Re: Europa League 2014-15 - Pt.1
Pls Hans. Let's not start some revisionist history here. If only CL coefficients mattered the bundesliga would have not surpassed Italy in 2011. The reason that it did was that they outperformed Italy in EL matches. They didn't need to make it far, just farther than the Italian teams. I'm fairly certain this is a fact but am too lazy to look up the actual numbers.
