Boateng would make a lot of sense on paper by the way as he can play RB and fit in as a RCB in a 3 man defense. A right-footed Mathieu basically. Boateng, Pique, Mathieu would be quite an upgrade in terms of height and physicality at the back from the Alves, Alba, Mascherano days. I just don't see why Bayern would sell. It's not like they are loaded with defenders themselves. Unless Pep has a vision in which he saw Badstuber being the second coming of prime Baresi. Which is always a possibility with Pep.

I do agree, I don't rate him much but systematically wise and attributes needed role wise he fits.
