Champions league top scorer

Who do you think will finish as the top CL scorer of all time.

Messi 27- 68 goals 88 apps 0.77 ratio 3x champion
Ronaldo 29- 69 goals 105 apps 0.66 ratio 2x champion

Messi is younger and has a better ratio but I still think Ronaldo is just a better athlete and will keep at his goal scoring pace longer.

Messi on account of being around longer.

Also it's hard to see Ronaldo retiring in Madrid and thus enjoying being part of a team that creates a ridiculous amount of goalscoring chances while Messi will probably stay at Barca into retirement or almost retirement.

Penaldo he is the machine . He is so subtle in his con arts that none can match his air dives and dive traps . Messi can no longer match the dive rate of Ronaldo. This is a walk in the park for fallador winner from Portugal.

well if ronaldo truly does go back home probably messi as man u would have to compete first.

but realistically i see messi staying more of a starter within the next 5 years, whether midfield or forward, those penalties / free kicks will be enough to hold him up.

Wayne Gretzky's NHL points record will likely never be broken he has 1000 more pts then the next closest guy...good seasons in the nhl are 100 pt seasons, he had 200 pt seasons multiple times...it's largely due to goaltending being poor and equipment changing....but it will likely stand forever

Well, I think that at the end of their careers Ronaldo will have more goals than Messi. On the course of 2-3 years Ronaldo will become a permanent 9, while Messi will play in midfield.

i don't see anyone breaking Delio Onnis's Ligue 1 goal record either .

nobody is staying in ligue 1 long enough to reach 299 goals .

Someone will eventually. It's not something crazy like 400+ or even 300+ goals or anything. It's a great feat, but still beatable.

If Totti was an out-and-out ST he would've beaten it I reckon.

For the Bundesliga, Gerd Müller's record was pretty astounding. So far there has no one come even close, and it is questionable whether today there will be one focus striker like him in the BL any time soon:
