Another fine game, surprise surprise. Graphs going up certainly. Didnt expect this much commitment and spirit. Defenders of both teams looking very decent honestly. 35k crowd thronging the stadium Proud

micheal chopra-the ex Newcastle man missing two or three sitters towards the end. Embarassed NEU winning by a sole goal margin goal scored by Spanish international Koke in a match which the visitors dominated totally.

anyone watched the game ?? especially any non Indians. Love to know what you guys thought.

Don't know whether to support a Delhi club or a Mumbai club. hmm

They can add some Gypsy players from Iberia, England, & the Balkans. I can see Chopra & Quaresma eventually playing in this league. Maybe even Banel Nicolita. Can't wait for this league to get started. Razz

Don't want to sound negative or cynical, but I don't think it's will do any good to Indian football and might not be very long before gets embroiled in some controversy (Betting, eh).

Don't understand why they had to launch a new league and didn't revamp the ongoing professional league? May be because:

#1. the officials & organizers of professional league & clubs don't want to give-up their 'rights' & 'inheritance' and want to suck whatever juice the I League can still provide.

#2. the investors & organizers are here for here for a bit of fun & razzmatazz and utterly scared to take some responsibility and commit long-term to build a professional infrastructure.

Don't think will be watching much of this (got seriously disgusted when saw two bimbos babbling last night) but Kolkata will have a soft spot as a Bangladeshi player is in their fold.

yes for obvious reasons.

there are still more, like the grand success of Indian premier League(cricket) for one. They know a commodity similar to that if catered to places where there is a following for the sport is bound to work. And therefore they have wisely picked the core footballing centers and formed only 8 teams.

I hate it too for all those extra baggages it is bringing with it, hate it for Bollywood and cricket. But I guess its the only way to sell something here in India right now unfortunately, that is by linking it with 2 of the countries biggest crazes. We only know to do it that way alas. Rolling Eyes

But as I have said earlier, we can choose to neglect all these and solely look at the footballing side. If this can motivate young players to come forward because all of a sudden theres money in here (which was lacking until now) and also more importantly if it can force the corporates and the organizations to inject cash and improve the quality of the game in the country, at the end of the day, who the heck cares. cheers we only need their money. Let the game grow and stand on its feet first. After that we will ditch them, dont worry. Cool

We should have ended it in the first half, Wouldnt call it exactly boring.

Skoubo-Junker is a very clever partnership, But it is too slow. ADP clearly doesnt have the legs for more than 60 mins a match. We probably have the best attacking midfield, Arias and Mulder are very neat and clever on the ball.

So many chances we wasted smh, Pune lucky to grab a point.

I guess one of the problems right now are that the pitches are too dry and hard, The ball wobbles to much. Pitches need to be watered imo.

I remind when some Italian politicians ( I don't know if you knew it ) asked to Del Piero to not sign for New Dehli for the Italian marines fact in India Laughing
luckily for you ADP didn't care to these controversies and he signed for New Dehli and not Honved Budapest.

Considering the reception he gets every second here in India, He wont even be having second thoughts about it Robes.

Del Piero is a great man, No denying that. But we need to win. If ADP isnt fit enough to start right now, He isnt. Impact sub seems fine for now, He'll become sharper by the end of the month and he'll start then!

at least del piero is in shape. Our front man on the contrary Mr. Micheal Chopra is looking like absolute shite. fat, and immobile and weary. David James meticulously planned this purchase I read. Took into consideration his relatively low age while splashing cash on him. But the fact he is looking 40-45 years old rather than his actual 30.

on the match i think comparatively this was a step backwards from the first 2. Second half especially was poor. DD lacked luck though. Hitting the woodwork, wrongly calling offside et al.

Pune City clearly is looking crap. Vital 1 point for them. Delhi should have buried these lot.

Yeah, Kolkata has the best striker this season. That's what works in their favor, No other team has half as good striker as Fikru upfront.

Btw got my tickets sorted, Traveling to Goa from uni in 2 weeks to watch the Goa vs Delhi game on November 1st. That away fan spirit.

^ Nice Thumbs up

Kolkata did the best preparation for the tournament and its showing with their performance so far. They look the most knit side, everyone know their job it seems. Denzil Franco btw  Also these guys mean business and are taking this thing very seriously. They trained in Spain at Atletico and even got a pep-talk from Simeone.  Surprised   Proud  So no wonder they are looking a cut above the rest.

They will walk the league part and reach the final easily. But there though anything can happen.  smoking

Yesterday's game, Chennai vs Goa. What a game, Chennai won it by the skin of their teeth, Goa just kept attacking and attacking and attacking them. When the second half started, Chennai only got into the opponents half after 15 minutes were gone.
