Murillo is our player , we signed him in this January but kept to Granada until the end of the season.

I hope he can also defend , I don't know him

I stll remind his debut when noone knew him , it was in a friendly match 2001 against Real Madrid at Bernabeu ( Santiago Bernabeu trophy 2001 ) and he scored the 1-2 on an fantastic free kick.
It was a presage..

Jose is a demon.

Is Mourinho the same man to have made Wesley Sneijder as a player worthy of Balon d'or under him ?

Evidently Cuadrado and Willian are not so good for these levels

Echo the sentiments in regards SA footie. I've always thought the WC SA qualifiers when you factor in the rustic style, lenient refeering, hostile away crowds, and high altitudes in some cases, are the hardest of them all. You're required to grind it out for every point on offer. The UEFA qualifiers are facile in comparison.

Robinho's career best performance - he was player of the tournament in Copa America 2007.

I have always thought no coach brought as much out of Robinho as Dunga did.

He was Brazil's best in 2010 too. He's kinda underrated. Very good player imo

I agree with all that but he failed to reach anywhere near his full potential for reasons that are worth analyzing.

Putting Neymar in the middle as a sort of weird false-9, Firmino and Coutinho on the wing, Putting Tardelli. Sweet lord, he didnt manage to nail one substitution or tatical change. The main problem with Brazil ever since 2002 is the coaching. We simply cannot produce coaching talent and we get outcoached by any team with a half decent coach. Its disgusting.

Feckin Amen

This same Dunga won Copa America 2007 with both Kaka and Ronaldinho having dropped out and in the final he beat a star studded brilliant Argentina team purely on tactics.

This same Dunga also won Confed 2009 while a much fancied Spain team bowed out in the semi finals.

This same Dunga had made Brazil almost unbeatable before WC 2010 and not for a moment since then during these last five years have they been that strong.

The bottom line is that Dunga could be making mistakes just like any coach one day or the other makes mistakes. After all some people think a lot of what Pep Guardiola is doing at Bayern Munich is a mistake and perhaps just as many think Mourinho threw away the UCL tie against PSG with mistakes.

Dunga is far from being a bad coach or tactician. Some people don't like his style of play for which he can arguably be blamed a little but we must also consider that he doesn't have much high quality talent at his disposal to work with.

I think what may be happening is that Dunga takes time to build his teams and before that he experiments a good deal. Some of the decisions he takes during this experimental phase can be baffling but given time he should be able to build the right squad.

I say if given proper chances, Luiz Adriano would prove he is a much worthier number 9 than Tardelli.

Sneijder was always ultra talented. The team Mourinho had with Sneijder just took advantage of the talents that he has (most notably his vision, through passing and long shots). Also Milito was ridiculous at the time.

Okay  ,but he was never close to '09-'10 as performance . So this thing of Mourinho to destroy talented players is a myth.
Also Ozil gave the best under him tbf.

I agree on the premise of this post, and I like Dunga as a coach and I believe last time he was fired he lost like 1 or 2 games in a couple years or something like that.

But please don't say Brazil doesn't have high quality talent.  Just please don't go there.

When you see what the like of Colombia, Holland, Chile, Uruguay, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Switzerland, Costa Rica have to work with and then compare that to Brazil it's a joke.

He may not be picking the right players, like having Dani Alves as a last minute edition because of injury but Brazil compared to other national teams is stocked with talent.

Yes, they may need to use tactics instead of just rolling a ball out there and being better than everyone in this version of the team but please don't assume they don't have talent.

Basically every national team other than 1 or 2 would die to have Brazil's selection issues.
