Chelsea were awful, but Costa took it to an entirely different level. He held the ball up once. Absolutely awful.

Compare him to Zlatan, another striker who was below par, and the skill difference is shocking. Zlatan was making it stick, Costa was looking like a child out there.

I think PSG had like 5 straight corners in a row right around that time the game was going to get out of hand in a hurry.

Sure his positioning was great but if any keeper of a team wanting to win the CL doesn't save it I'd ask serious questions.

It was a poor finish and quite central with not much power, sure it looked nice but I'd expect GKs at this level to save it. Think you are overrating it personally, or maybe my standards are a lot higher I don't like giving credit for saves which if he didn't save it he'd have deserve criticism for.

Because he's an awful defender, almost every PSG attack came down his side. Every time it was Ramires and Matic trying to prevent the cross and Ivanovic was nowhere to be seen.

PSG should have won this. Once again they miss chances. Chelsea are awful to watch. This is the best the EPL can offer?

Jibs pls, this is how Mou approaches these games. Barca would look like this under him too. These games shouldn't represent an entire league.

I think that was why Ramires was started. Since Cavani has the instincts of a 9, Maxwell being the one who offers width, Jose wanted to overcrowd the box in order to prevent the danger from the Uruguayan and Ibra who are both capable headers. Willain and Ramires were mostly the ones protecting the right flank. Just take a look at Cavani's goal.

Please Great Leader. I feel that the supposed champions of the league should always strive to be the protagonists on the pitch. Barcelona would never allow a coach without Cruyffian principles to coach their esteemed club. TY.

I thought Luiz was good... he was at fault on the goal though.  He ball watched instead of staying glued to Ivanovic.  Maxwell should have been the one to defend Ivanovic too, but he's a shat defender tbh.

Good game by PSG.  As has been the case all season, they are very inefficient with their chances.  But at least the quality has gone up in the last month dramatically and increasingly so...  to win though, they will need to take their chances a ton better.

Chelsea's bad luck is that Thiago Silva has been in beast mode lately and he was struggling last year when PSG-Chelsea met.  Also, Luiz is much better at dealing with the Chelsea thug tactics at midfield compared to Motta who is not physical enough.

If i'm PSG, i'm very hopeful.  Too bad Lucas Moura will be missing for the return leg too though...  he would have made a difference.  I wasn't impressed by lavezzi.  Maybe Pastore picks up form and replaces him.

I don't man when Chelsea park the bus, they can reach the final maybe even win it, CL is also based off a lot of luck too.

Anyways no team looks like clear cut favourites as every team seems to have some sort of weakness.

It's still true though. Chelsea are playing chit on a stick as usual but that's hard to break down and they can always score from a lucky counter or set piece like today. Which will get them far in the CL.

chelsea played like this last season and they were really lucky vs PSG and their tactics completely backfired vs Atletico because they thought they had a good result with that 0-0 draw and got destroyed at home.

Today I thought they got lucky again vs PSG, their attack was non existent and got lucky they didn't concede 3 even against this piss poor PSG attack. Chelsea are going out against any of Bayern-Real-Barca.

I'd take Real, tbh.

They have been beaten by Atleti a lot this season, so I would fancy our chances, there.

LOL, you're right. Mourinho usually trusts his defensive to awful defenders. Especially with an endless supply of money. That's such a Mourinho trait. He does it all the time.

Ivanovic is an awful defender and Courtois just made some routine saves today.

That must be along the same line of thinking as there's no way Costa could ever be successful playing for a Mourinho/Chelsea team.
