That Bardsley tackle on Hazard though...full of grit and steel
The only real injuries we've had(excluding the odd 2 weeks out injuries) over the past decade have been Essien & Robben, iirc. And then the harsh tackle that ended Ballack's Chelsea career.
Other than those, Terry was injured quite often under Rafa. That's it.
I point to a good medical team and good training methods. And obviously some luck, thankfully.
Wish we had that.
Can't help but feel that if we had lesser injuries over the last decade we could have had more trophies in our cabinet.

I remind we had a different situation for injuries under Mourinho (few ) and under Rafa ( many) too

Is that what Poldi was thinking?RealGunner wrote:Isn't that what he actually speaks?
Chileans think they speak Spanish but in reality they produce an unintelligible cacophony that only they can understand.

there's a good chance Poldi does't know the difference between Spanish and Portuguese. Not exactly what you would call an intellectual, our Poldi.

The Gillete Soccer Saturday panel (Nicholas, Thompson, Merson and Le Tissier) chose their all-time Premier League team:
Schmeichel; Neville, Terry, Adams, Cole; Ronaldo, Vieira, Gerrard, Giggs; Bergkamp, Henry
Seaman, Ferdinand, Scholes, Lampard, Keane, Beckham and Shearer just missed out. I guess they could be subs.

I personally wouldn't have gone for Cristiano and Gerrard over Golden Balls and Scholes but that's what it boils down to eventually.

It's a hard one, I wouldn't have picked Gerrard or Bergkamp.
Schmeichel, Neville, Terry, Adams, Cole, Ronaldo, Beckham, Vieira, Giggs, Shearer, Henry
That would be my team.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V5
Would of swapped Scholes with Ronaldo and move Gerrard to the wing tbh.
Ronaldo was class no doubt, but he was only in the league for a little while. He was only here for 4-5 years iirc. Scholes was brilliant for what, 15+ years?
Shearer could of been in there too no doubt, but Henry was the best forward to ever play in the league.
If Suarez stayed in the league for a little while too, he would of rivaled Bergkamp. But can't think of too many better than Dennis as a SS. Amazing player, loved watching him play. Maybe Wayne? Or put Ronaldo in and replace Scholes with Dennis.
I don't know. Too hard making "the best 11". Too many factors/personal favourites/players that were too good you just had to add them respite being c*nts to choose from.

Alex Song isn't in Cameroon's squad for the Africa Cup, that's great news for West Ham.

How many of those players won the Ballon d'Or while playing in the PL? Come on Ronaldo grew from a great prospect into the best player in the world at United why wouldn't he be included?
Gerrard deserves to be there too. I love Bergkamp but would probably say Shearer > if picking a team.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V5
Boxing day fixtures tomorrow
Chelsea v West Ham (12:45 GMT)
This is quite interesting. Chelsea are the team to beat while West Ham have been punching above their weight this season. Should be a straight forward Chelsea win but Big Sam's tactical nous might just be on par with Mourinho.
Burnley v Liverpool
Liverpool have been playing better recently, despite the results. Should win this one but Burnley will make it difficult
Crystal Palace v Southampton
Can't call this one. Southampton might have better players but with their stuttering form and being away. Who knows?
Everton v Stoke
Everton win.
Leicester v Tottenham
Tottenham should win this.
Man Utd v Newcastle
Straight forward United win. But Which United?
Sunderland v Hull
Sunderland high on morale after beating Newcastle while Hull struggling badly. Sunderland to win this
Swansea v Aston Villa
Swansea win surely
West Brom v Man City
City to win this
Arsenal v QPR (17:30 GMT)
Arsenal Vs Stone Cold Charlie Austin. Can see Arsenal concede but we should win this.
