Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V7
How crap City are in Europe is isolated though and not really an example of why the league may suck.
I have gone into great detail as to why that is and I don't believe it has anything to do with the PL.

I have a terrible feeling FSG are trying to make us into another Arsenal. Get schooled every year in Europe while sneaking into top 4 and call it a good season.
- Spoiler:
- except we aren't even sneaking into top 4 at the moment

If you edited it after I pressed quote and BEFORE I pressed post there would be not 'edit' notice though
be honest now

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Stop comparing the strength of a league to CL results, it's absolutely stupid and doesn’t even make sense.
Leverkusen could beat the champions of Spain so is Bundesliga the GOAT league now? Absolutely moronic to compare a KO cup competition to a 38 league marathon.
CL results has never been an example of league strength and it never will.
This isn't a one off game ffs.
It's been happening for YEARS now.
CL results will always be the example of league strength considering that's the only way you can compare the other leagues.
English football is in the decline/dropped off, accept it.

If they don't get rid of the man in charge in the summer your "feelings" will be correct. Which is worrisome. Really.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V7
Mole and I already told everyone the PL was crap last season. People were convinced we were just bitter
Not only has the quality heavily declined since the late 00's but tactically, the League is all over the place. Tacticians like Benitez, Mourinho & Ferguson were utterly dominant in Europe during that era so to go from that to limited managers like Rodgers and Pellegrini is a huge drop off.
The level of talent in the top half is grossly overstated as well. Even the much hyped Chelsea squad doesn't match up well to the one of 10 years previous besides Hazard, maybe Fabregas how many get into the first team?
You know you're in big trouble when the likes of Kane and Sanchez are marketed as the Leagues best players. Workhorses instead of the supremely gifted crop of the Golden Era.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V7
Tbh I think the leagues in general are of a lot lower quality, I never denied that and I often find these arguments akin to which dog shit stinks the least.
Most teams have been left in the dust due to the top echelon getting mass investment leading to the rich getting richer and FFP despite its apparent premise of the opposite.
I just don't like the premise that a team can lose in the CL " LOL your league is bad m8 " it probably is lol but yeah.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V7
The EPL is better now than it was say 10 years ago, but you guys act like other leagues have not improved leaps and bounds.
On top of this the EPL top teams especially tend to 'improve' their squads through buying new players every year. Having good players is one thing but having team unity and communication is something just as important. Actually it's more important to have a cohesive squad and a good team mentality than to have a team full of superstars IMO.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how the EPL 'giants' react to this kind of fall in Europe regardless of what it means for English football.

EPL is funny man.
I just enjoy watching Sky, BT Sports and ITV "pundits" cling to their stupid moniker "Besh N Da Wurlddddd".

Tbf I should have said just "commentators" as I never listen to the pre/post match pundits anyway. Just some Neville analysises who I find okay. Over the years the ITV commentator (Clive Tyldesley Google says) has always caught my attention in particular with his ineptness.

boring? I wish, his voice actually makes me want to bash his head in.
Though I rewatched the Bayer-Atletico match on a Sky Sports stream (to avoid Bela Rethy), and the cocommentator ws pretty bad as well there. Couldn't pronounce Bellarabi's and Calhanoglu's names right once, over 90 min lol.
