I doubt very much that Beckenbauer 'claimed' anything like that.

I see that supposed quote is floating around Italian sites, I didn't see what Beckenbauer said on Sky but I assume they were maybe generally speculating about Klopp's options or making jokes about his temperament or something.

Neither would anyone assume Beckenbauer has knowledge of Klopp's plans nor expect Beckenbauer to break substantial news just because he's a pundit on German Sky and therefore has to talk about everything.

Nothing about that in Germany, either.

When he announced that he's leaving Dortmund, he said he's 0% tired, so probably he didn't get any offer he wanted to grab and is now just waiting for something he fancies. It might even be a risky decision, because managers get forgotten really fast when they're not working. Or then he indeed has a pre-agreement with Bayern to become their manager in 2016. In that case a gap year would make a lot of sense, because if he went from Dortmund to Bayern straight away, that would have gotten a big backlash from Dortmund fans.

So I'll go with the more level-headed: yes, if Rodgers isn't sacked, where would he go. I'd rather go on a sabbatical than go to Napoli as well, no offense.

I think Klopp feels differently though, and so would I.
I can only repeat myself, a club with a history like Liverpool and the current situation. He needs to do relatively little (like win the league once) to be an instant, immortal legend.

At this point if he wins the COC, he'll be a legend

Yeah I agree with that. I also think it'd be more interesting if he went to Liverpool. I personally would just not go there. Napoli has the better squad, and I have lived in England, and would not necessarily repeat the experience.

Or he might be waiting for leeds to gain promotion to the pl & lead them to their glory days. A better challenge than managing man utd if u ask me.

Read somewhere that Zenit were in talks to get him on the last week of August, but ultimately couldn't due to time constraint
