Midfield is more of a worry than the defense as it's so open and lacking in control that it leads to the defense being exposed.

Unzue (assistant coach who does the set pieces also) is a genius. Barca haven't conceded a set piece goal since October 2014 and scored the 2nd most in La Liga on the other end.

Why do people keep stating we have a bad defense? We have 19 goals against us in the league. Munich has 13, Atletico has 25, Chelsea has 26, RM has 27, PSG has 30, United has 30, Arsenal has 32, Roma has 22, City has 34, Dortmund has 37 ........... But yes, we need to 'fix' that defense. We are fine. Just outscore the opponent whenever we get a goal against us. That is how the game works.

He's trying to say that regardless of numbers, every top team Barca have played against this season (possibly barring Atletico) has either a) dominated the game or b) created a lot of very good chances that they just couldn't take advantage of.

Which is what happens when your try and play without a midfield. Whether Messi and co. will be enough remains to be seen.

but teams have always created chances against us.. maybe not as much but we cannot really compare the team we have now with pep's barca.

we're working with what we have in my opinion to it's best ability.
our midfield are past their prime minus sergio busq.

there is a stat going around that we have won more games so far in the season with lucho compared to peps perfect season, granted it's not over yet and that can change.. we're on a more than okay track and really shouldn't be complaining.

Attack, defense and setpieces are all very strong this year, midfield weak. But apparently you can just skip the midfield, in both directions.

agreed, our defense has been a rock this season, not too many mistakes unlike last season.
