Honestly, I would have rather just kept Jovetic and signed 2 decent fullbacks and a center back, instead of signing Mario and Gabriel.

We never want to invest in fullbacks, as we for some reason believe this is not such an important thing. When we obviously can't swing a cross and concede a bundle of goals due to mispositioned FB's, and CB's pick up the blame because they try to cover.

I'm not even happy, not until Nagatomo and Ranocchia are in the mix for starting spots.

Vibestradamus prediction - Fiorentina finish ahead of Inter, led by Jovetic.

Jovetic started of really well, then Perisic arrived and idiotic Mancini started shoving Jovetic toward right wing where he is ineffective, Jovetic is a natural left drifter who likes to cut inside, all his career. He started losing confidence and getting benched.

tbh Jovetic was basically a static player under us, looked like a sort of Cassano , he didn't run , bad athletic condition . Besides so in love with the ball , incredibly selfish. Then I'd have given another chance to him more than signing Gabigol ( not a fan of this signing  ) but not surprised Inter wanted to get rid of him though . There is also a tactical matter (4-3-3 .. where jovetic?  Imo he is a SS )
p.s. Robes prediction - Inter won't get even an EL place this year (:

rincon wrote:Brozovic looks like he will leave though. Still, if Napoli don't bounce back then I can see Juve/Roma/Inter in some order for top 3.

That is unless Roma just mentally crumble after what happened in the CL (as they've been known to do).

De Boer lost his first game but he showed tactical flexibility which is more important than results right now. He was known for the 4-2-3-1, spoke of the 4-3-3 and ended up playing a back 3 in his debut. It shows that he is looking for all solutions, its a good sign.

It's the reason why I prefer not rating our mercato before of 31 August. Still I fear for our important player to be sold.
Glory wrote:Inter are back babyy! Thumbs up My fav Italian team. Now let's challenge those pos juves Twisted Evil Napoli and Roma were token pretenders(no offense resident Roma fans, remark strictly for banter purposes. Very Happy ) . The Milan clubs are and have always been the real deal and they need to arise. If Inter get their act together it wont be too long before Milan too does it (hopefully).

Jovetic has really regressed since his days with Fiorentina. It seems that with Inter he tried to perform with the technical verve that he used to display, but lost the ball more often than not.

I feel really sad about Jovetic's situation.

Can remember the arguments we had with Tom and Vibe about which of our clubs would be lucky enough to land him Laughing Making parlay bets Laughing

Hopefully now he just stays at Fiorentina and at least reaches some semblance of his potential.

As for Inter aware me on what's going on. Where will these new players play?

Handa
Ansaldi - Murillo - Miranda - Erkin
Banega - Medel
Mario - Gabigol - Perisic
Icardi

Is this going to be the line up? What about Candreva? Or Brozovic and Kondogbia?

De Boer fav formation is 433 but 4231 is always a possibility. A lot depends on how Banega adjusts to playing a deeper role and where Mario is gonna play. Gabigol might not join the team before January, and even if he does he'll more likely rotate than start.

433 (De Boer's fav, but plays both Banega and Kondogbia out of position)

Mario Kondogbia Banega
Candreva Icardi Perisic

4231 ( One of Mario, Kondogbia, or Candreva will be benched, but with injuries and fatigue that might be a good thing)

Medel Kondogbia/Mario
Candreva/Mario Banega Perisic
Icardi

I believe we are going to play  with this 4-3-3

Handanovic
Ansaldi Miranda Murillo D'Ambrosio
Joao Mario Banega Kondogbia
Candreva Icardi Perisic

The team looks like very good on paper .. Shame we signed an unproven coach for Serie A, Rudi Garcia could be a legit choice.

Brozovic might go away , there are EPL clubs on him and his agent said he is on mercato. I hope not, I like him and he's real potential , but atm he'd be behind Joao Mario on hierarchies

Radio Sportiva was just saying that Brozovic is outgoing. You should hear the Juventus fans calling into the show complaining that Inter has exceeded allowable spending as per FFP. Don't know what they are worried about. Some of them were going ballistic on the show. Almost all southerners by their accents. Radio Sportiva is national but Tuscan based.

By the way, if anyone understands Italian, Radio Sportiva also streams. Not sure it is available outside of Italy, but here is the link:

Suning is certainly spending money. The players are good, the organization is lacking.

The one good thing about Inter buying Candreva and Gabigol is there will be no room next year for Berardi. So he will definitely come to Juve...

How much time was we didn't spend so much ? Probably 10 years.
Great signal by Suning IMO . Ater years of poverty under Thohir.

Shame Joao Mario and Barbosa can't play the EL because of " FFP rules that limit the club from overspending " . It's the first time I got a similar thing. Football is going to be ridicolous day for day .

P.S. Vibe, are you ok now ? Jovetic stayed
It is weird to watch it hmm We didn't spend so much from 10 years probably. Great signal by Suning, after the Thohir spending review, it looks like they want to invest really.

This thread aged very well Proud

Anyway, Asamoah announced he's leaving. So his move to Inter should be official in a matter of days.

De Vrij and Martinez deals have also been finalized

Atleast one of Cancelo or Rafinha could be redeemed

Looking to sign Ilicic as well ?

I suppose this is their bare minimum MERCATO regardless of their CL qualification ?

Atalanta said Ilicic is not for sale. Add Asamoah to them, seems like that will be his choice.
