No prizes for guessing what Messi was telling Martino there

Martino has no balls. You can't be too harsh of a person when you're coaching at top tier NT, so he's perfect.

Messi dribbles per game:
For Argentina WC14 6.6, total 46 (Robben 34)
For Argentina CA15 7.5, total 30 (Sanchez 17)
For Barcelona UCL 14-15 7.1, total 92 (Hazard 51)
For Barcelona La Liga 14-15 4.6, total 174 (Neymar 104)
Messi gives more for Argentina than he gives for Barcelona, but because it's dysfunctional team playing even more against parked busses, end product isn't the same.
Messi is playing just fine, I'm just waiting rest of the Argentina to wake up as a team.
Argentina finally woke up. Messi, involved in all the six goals.

in Copa America's defense, Pastore also looked good in the CL this year .
maybe he's finally living up to his initial hype .

My friend from France who works in youth development was raving about Pastore this season. Seemed to be very impressed with him.

This is why South American football has fallen so far behind European football, and you won't see it change as long as this ridiculous "more contact = better football because we r men" attitude prevails.
Hold up now.
I agree and even posted the same thing about the physicality of South American football and how it's funny people are now just starting to realize this is SA football and always has been.
But SA teams falling way behind Europe, where is that coming from. The top players in almost every top league are South American, a lot of European club teams can't even field teams with there own countries players and depend on South America, Africa etc.
The EPL features a shockingly small amount of English starters.
Argentina was in the finals of the world cup and went to overtime and I believe every SA team got out of the group stage for like 2 world cup cycles running plus 2 of the 4 semi finalists were South American.
4 of the last 8 teams in the 2010 World cup were South American and Uruguay finished 3rd.
I don't really understand where SA teams are falling behind Europe.
Talking about South American football, as in the domestic leagues versus the European domestic leagues.
In other news, Messi is having a great game, behind both goals so far and looking lively.
That's money and corruption, nothing to do with the style of play.
Or it's the fact that most "football fans" wont even watch La Liga if Madrid or Barca are not playing let alone South American football.
Any league unable to keep there best players will never be a top league. That is SA's issues not the style of play.

Pastore has been Argentina's second best player, has the best link-up play with Messi. If only he made it to WC14.
Messi 4th time official MoM in this tournament.

Anyone else think that if this had happened at Barca he would've tried to get pass the last guy rather than pass it off?

Messi isn't that selfish, he passes allot inside the box. Look at how many assists he had to Neymar and Suarez

Re: Copa América 2015
How exactly was that red for Zamorano not legit? He clearly left his foot out to hit Aranguiz. It doesn't matter if he didn't hurt him or barely even touched him. The intention is there. And for the offside it wasn't clear that the onside player didn't touch the ball. Everyone here had to see a replay before realizing that it actually was offside. How is the linesman supposed see such a small detail without 50 replays? But, nah this is clearly rigged. Ofc, Chile will get some calls their way, but there is no doubt they are deservedly in the final.
The only problem I have is that they haven't left the nacional stadium.

Went to bed early and didn't watch the game. Checked the result. How does Messi not even buy a goal in a 6-1 trashing in an Argentina shirt? That aside he seems to have played very well by what I'm reading.

Pastore a year ago wasn't the same player he's today. PSG almost transfer-listed him this time last summer.

South American teams cannot keep their best players it's due to them not having the money ,being in a bad financial situation and being forced to sell players to big european clubs, how does that have anything to do with their style of play?
Yeah, SA clubs are behind European clubs because of the way they play

What about Vidal not even getting a yellow for this?

Doesn't need to score to be great in a match. He also didn't score in la manita vs Real Madrid

Seems Messi is playing too deep. In every play he has 5-6 team mates in front of him. I think he should go forward and leave midfield to Pastore

why fix something that's not broken, messi not scoring is not an issue so long as he keeps creating like he is.

What i mean that it will give excuse for haters that he didnt do enough for argentina. Even though winning copa america and reaching WC final is a great achivement for the supposed national team flop
